The aroma of the spices was wonderful, and I could really feel the chef's dedication to his craft. However, the strict "no talking" rule created a rather tense atmosphere. Personally, I believe that enjoying lunch while chatting with friends makes it taste even better, so this place wasn't the right fit for me. I definitely couldn't bring my incredibly chatty Indian friend here! Since it only has counter seating, I think it is best suited for solo diners who prefer absolute silence.
View on GoogleFelt like there were many regular customers. The staff/ manager was nice, but once you start eating the curry, you are not allowed to talk or use phones, which was inconvenient for me… Even the medium spicy one was quite spicy in general and difficult to finish. I wonder if this place is for only curry enthusiasts….
View on GoogleForget the Kanda Curry Grand Prix winners, this was the best curry place I’ve visited in Kanda. The owner’s a bit of an oddball, to which he admits by looking at the print on his tshirt. Word of caution if you do visit though, owner gets unhappy if you chat, look at your phone after the food’s served, etc. Which, I completely understand because it’s a small establishment with limited number of seats and you might bother the other diners. People complain about these rules, but you can’t help but be thankful when you don’t have to wait so long because of them. Despite all the rather unorthodox rules I find myself going back each time I visit Tokyo because his Indian style curry and chicken karaage is so damn good. Masterful use of the spices, the curry is always so fragrant and mouthwatering. Oh, and I think they don’t serve you if you don’t speak any Japanese at all? Summary: 100% recommend this place IF you don’t mind the rules. I took 1 star off because of that.
View on GoogleAwesome curry! Owner knows how to use spice from India without overwhelmingly becoming Indian Curry. The roux is watery and not thick but it's very savory with exploding flavor. You will need google map to find this place in Akihabara. The place has the look of old dilapidated house with about 8 seating capacity.
View on Googlevery bad service and never come back, we respect the rules of not allow talking and not taking photo, however, even we use phone on normal purpose, the chef used very impolite tone and manner to stop us, as a customer, this is totally not respectful and non sense. food-wise, plating is ok but the curry is spicy without aroma and layers, chicken is a bit dry and not juicy, highly not recommended and don't waste time to queue up in return for poor service, don't let the staff to screw up your mood :-(
