We had a quick lunch before leaving Tokyo and it was wonderful: delicious and fresh simple tuna dishes (sashimi) in a local and colloquial atmosphere, alongside a row of old manga :-)

This restaurant was featured on Iio's “ずん喫茶.” From outside, the Showa-style entrance looks a little intimidating, but it is renowned for its tuna rice bowls. Inside, there are table seats to the left and right as you enter, and counter seats at the far end, so it is easy to visit alone too. The tuna rice bowl set comes with mini udon. Both the lean red tuna and fatty toro are very delicious, just as their reputation suggests. They must be fresh. The rice portion is a little small, but I thought it was sized with the udon in mind. The banana juice Iio drank was also very good. I plan to visit again. I returned on 2026.3.11. I ordered the tuna rice bowl again, which had been so delicious. The tuna pieces were large, and I could taste the tuna's delicious sweetness. It was still just as delicious. The udon was very tasty too, with a slightly sweet dashi broth. It was cold outside, so it warmed me up as well.

An interesting restaurant for its contrast: it retains the atmosphere of the classic coffee shop it operates as during the day, yet at night you can enjoy an all-tuna course. You can taste not just sashimi but various tuna cuts and cooking styles, keeping things interesting until the end. The food is so authentic that you would never guess it was a coffee shop—a tuna lover's delight. Plenty to eat and drink for just over 7,000 yen per person. I think the price is very fair for what you get. There is no pretentiousness, yet the food is thoroughly authentic. It is easy to see why it has been loved for so long. Satisfied every time.
