Since its founding in February 1998, Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen Bankara's Akihabara branch has centered on two pillars: “tonkotsu shoyu,” with its consistently rich flavor, and creamy “tonkotsu” without an unpleasant odor. The domestically sourced pork back fat known as A-abura is a rare cut, with only a few kg obtainable from a single pig. This rare A-abura is cooked separately until so meltingly tender that it falls apart when touched. Mixing this tender A-abura into the soup creates Bankara's unique, unparalleled “umami” and “sweetness.” 【Initial flavor・Middle flavor・Aftertaste】 One characteristic of Bankara is a flavor that changes over time. Freshly made Bankara ramen…

This was one of the ramen places that I didn't really feel was worth the money I paid for compared to other ramen shops on Japan. It was a very tourist focused shop so that definitely may be the reason for it. The price was about ¥1500 for their recommendation and while that isn't a lot to some people, you can definitely get a better bowl cheaper somewhere else. The taste was average to me and not bad at all. I actually really liked the broth on this one, but the noodles felt a bit sad...not sure. Overall, average experience. Nothing to memorable.

Not too bad. One of the better ramen I had in a while.. I haven’t tasted a ramen this quality since I left PH so it’s refreshing. The broth is rich and thick which is how I like my ramen.

If the restaurant owners are reading reviews, please take my advice into consideration. Based on previous reviews the quality has gone downhill. What's clear to me is that this restaurant lacks consistency and blasting through orders like it's a party game. I went in because i wanted to have a meal before places started closing. Not bothering to check any reviews as I've done with most places. The food i had today was the worst I had in Japan. Gyozas were overcooked with parts burnt. They were so bland that the burnt parts were the only flavour. The ramen ingredients were either overcooked (egg and meats) or undercooked (bamboo shoots and noodles) with nothing in between. The ramen broth smelt and tasted muddied like it was prepared days ago, left to age, and has been in a state of being heated on and off. I ate just to get my money's worth and left as quick as i could. I went to a konbini afterwards because i genuinely felt i would get something more nutritious and delicious inside me. Price is alright and the staff was polite. But as a restaurant it fails to deliver on what matters most. I will not return unless there have been clear changes.

I have had heaps of Ramen in my life. This one was the best I’ve ever had in regards to the soup. I had a number one, my wife and daughter had number three. They were soy sauce Based and they were so yum! The Gyoza Was also as good as anyware

Great food for the price and excellent simple service. The water cups were dirty though, white bits floating within the pitcher and cups themselves which was disappointing especially since we were the only customers there. This is about my third time there as I always intend to stop there when I'm in Akihabara but if the dishes are dirty again this may be the last time.
