Enjoyed a really pleasant lunch here -- simple, tasty curry dish with a 500Y add-on of lassi, salad and ice cream. Overall cost about 1800Y. Definitely not a "tourist trap" place -- but they had an English-language menu available and by pointing at the things I needed, they could understand the order quite easily.

Found this little restaurant in a back street which is a pleasant surprise. Ordered their deep fry pork curry rice and the dish has turned out to be a real gem. Normally the taste of Japanese curry tends to be overshadowed by sweetness. Their curry has instead struck a descent balance between the sweet and spicy tastes. The deep fry pork was made to order rather than prepared in advance. As such the meat is juicy and soft in your first bite. Highly recommended. Not the list the restaurant can provide an English menu although the contents are less than the Japanese version.

First time trying spicy curry in Japan. They do it RIGHT. Also, the potato in their curry was so good.

I wasn't prepared for how spicy it was, but the flavor was great! 5 different sizes of rice with no extra charge.
