Just what you'd expect from 神保町. A set-meal shop in a place I'd never noticed before. The reviews were good too, and when I went in there were table seats for around 16 people. If you're alone, you share a table. It has an old-fashioned feel, but shops like ふたば are disappearing more and more, so I'm grateful this place exists. Cash only, and the daily special is 900円. Ramen and wonton noodles are 800円! The food is delicious too, which I'm thankful for. Nothing but gratitude.
View on Google「味のふたば」 in 神保町 I went to eat the wonton noodles I'd been looking forward to! It's usually a lively shop bustling with office workers on their lunch breaks and regulars, but that day the atmosphere was a little calmer, so I could savor my meal at leisure. With the first slurp, the gentle soup flavor seemed to slowly seep through my body, and I couldn't help feeling my heart relax. The silky wontons were superb too, and as I ate, both my body and heart grew warm. It was a bowl that let me forget the city's bustle and feel a somehow nostalgic warmth. Thank you for another happy time today. Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleA set-meal shop with a nostalgic atmosphere in 神田小川町. More new and stylish shops have opened around here, but time seems to pass slowly in this space alone. Inside are tables for 2, which can be joined to make seats for 4. Every menu item is inexpensive, even in 神田 where prices are rising, and there are good-value lunches. The lunches have fairly strong seasoning that makes you want more rice, with well-balanced menus of meat or fish and vegetables. The fried rice is peppery, moist, and delicious. The people at the shop are brisk and lively, and somehow give you energy for the afternoon; it's a place that makes you want to keep coming back.
View on GoogleI'll be attending a seminar in お茶の水 this afternoon. It's been a while since I last came to お茶の水. I'm really looking forward to deciding where to have lunch. Searching on 食べログ, I found a diner that caught my interest、、、. 味のふたば. Without hesitation, I headed straight there from the station. The exterior is "the classic old-fashioned diner." My expectations grew. I arrived around 12:45, and it was almost full. That said, everyone was using a face-to-face table for 2 alone, so in effect only half the seats were occupied. Today, ◾️Today's lunch (daily special) (¥800) ・Simmered hamburg ・Potato salad Served about 3 minutes after ordering. Fast! The hamburg looks good. The generous demi-glace sauce is delicious. There were thin slices of beef in the sauce. Little things like this make me happy. The hamburg itself has a substantial meaty texture and is satisfying to eat. Overall, it was a very delicious hamburg. There was also quite a lot of cabbage underneath, which I appreciated. There's no dressing on the table, so I pour the sauce over it to eat. I like this too. The potato salad isn't just a supporting player; there's a proper portion. Half the plate is potato salad. It makes its presence felt. Seeing this makes me want to pour sauce over it the old-fashioned way (that gives away my age). That made it a good accompaniment to rice. There's quite a lot of rice even though it isn't a large serving. It's cooked perfectly too. I eat while carefully considering the balance of hamburg, potato salad, pickles, and rice. The result was spot on. I've been confident about this balance since childhood. A perfect set-meal lunch overall. I wish there were a shop like this in my neighborhood. I'm envious of the local regulars who come every day、、、. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA set-meal shop one street off the main road. The shogayaki uses tender loin meat with plenty of sauce, making it feel luxurious. And the rice was so delicious I had another serving. Apparently a large serving is 150円, regular 100円, and small 50円. Water is self-service beside the entrance.
