Tiny little shop by Tokyo university. Very affordable meal with just 700 yen and comes with a big hearty bowl of tonjiru. I did find the taste of fish a bit overpowering compared to a regular tonjiru, and there wasn’t a lot of meat in there, but decent amount of potatoes, tofu and daikon in there. Ordered the giant rice and it really was gigantic that I almost couldn’t finish it haha. Overall very satisfied!

I Love love love their lunch. I think it’s too cheap and he should raise the price to be honest.

Located in front of Todai's main entrance, with no menu outside the shop and only tonjiru on offer. So the ordering system is that once you sit at the counter, they ask how much rice you want. You can choose large, medium, or small rice, all for the same 700円, which is cheap, but the ingredients are mainly potatoes, and where is the pork? I couldn't tell. The stock flavor and saltiness are strong, and it's completely different from the “tonjiru” served at tonkatsu restaurants. The accompanying side dishes are commercially prepared products. Todai students' parents have high incomes, so they can't be called “struggling students.” Why is it this cheap? I wonder.
