Yakitatsu. Most definitely one of the best yakitori shops in Japan. The food was delicious, most notably the chicken heart and liver as well as the chicken breast. The service was as amazing as the atmosphere with a helpful waiter and tastefully decorated seating arrangements. Another one of my favourite dishes was the chicken skin. Will definitely come again.
View on GoogleAbout a 3-minute walk from Hongo Sanchome Station, 「やき龍 本郷店」 specializes in charcoal-grilled skewers. The aroma of charcoal rises from across the counter, instantly whetting your appetite. Their signature negima is crisp and fragrant outside, with juices bursting out when you bite in, pairing beautifully with the sweetness of the long green onion. Offal such as hearts and liver is also delicious, without any unpleasant smell. The bottled beer and homemade lemon sours go down easily, and before you know it, the skewer plates have piled up. Though the interior is small, the lively feeling of gathering around the grill is pleasant. A standout neighborhood spot to remember for days when you really want to satisfy your yakitori cravings.
View on GoogleA place where you can pop in alone for delicious yakitori. I visited on Tuesday night without a reservation. Yakitori places where you can eat duck are rare, aren't they? I had duck with green onion and duck with asparagus. They have courses of 5 skewers, 8 skewers, and 7 skewers including duck, but I ordered à la carte this time. The crisp-grilled skin-wrapped chicken thigh, hearts, neck, and tenderloin were all moist, juicy yakitori. Still, the duck skewers were the most memorable. They also have about 20 kinds of sake (surely more), and it's a place to casually enjoy delicious yakitori. The draft beer was perfect too.
View on GoogleYakitori on Halloween I ordered negima, tsukune, chicken skin, and a mentaiko omelet too It felt like they put care into grilling every single yakitori skewer, and it was really delicious! Personally, the negima was crisp on the surface and moist inside, which was fantastic! Also, I was eating at the counter, and the staff served the yakitori while watching how quickly I ate, so it was lovely to enjoy the skewers without any gaps! Recommended when you want delicious yakitori around Hongo Sanchome
View on GoogleThis is a yakitori place I used to visit often. It's in a slightly hard-to-find location, and I got lost at first, but after eating there once I was hooked and kept going back. All the yakitori is delicious, especially the popular yagen cartilage, which sometimes sells out as soon as I arrive. I've moved recently and haven't been able to go much, but I'd definitely like to visit again if I get the chance.
