View on GoogleAn authentic marriage of wine and yakitori in Yushima I came for a business meal with someone from work. When I booked, I didn't know they had such a wide selection of wines, so the menu surprised me. We ordered the yakitori course, toasted with draft beer, and enjoyed 1 bottle each of white and red wine. While talking to the owner, he mentioned he had a champagne to recommend. I returned another day to try it. I had bottle 1193/2400 Nakada Park Vigne de Courteron Brut Nature. Apparently it's made by a junior colleague of the owner, so I got to enjoy a very rare bottle. Yes. 100% Pinot Noir, with a gorgeous aroma and lively bubbles that were irresistibly delicious. And paired with the chef's yakitori. Absolutely incredible!!! In a way, it taught me how pairings can work like this. I thought this was a restaurant I'd like to visit regularly.
View on GoogleA delicious yakitori restaurant in Yushima. Its Tabelog rating wasn't that high, but who cares! It was really tasty and great value. The counter felt a little cramped, which bothered me, but that's typical of Tokyo, so please forgive it. I'll be back. Thank you for the meal. Booking ahead is probably essential.
View on GoogleI visited for a year-end party. I'm glad I could get a reservation even on the same day! A 5-minute walk from Ueno-hirokoji Station. It's in a back alley. A rare wine from “LOU DUMONT (ルー・デュモン)” by Japanese winemaker “Koji Nakada” in Burgundy, France (White) Cuvée Madame K (Chardonnay), glass 1,500 yen Kashiwa (chicken thigh) Chigimo (liver) Bonbochi Shiratama (quail egg) Chicken wing Ikada (long green onion) Pecoros (small onion) Asparagus Shiitake Tsukune Ginkgo nuts Salad Grated daikon Nyumen Every item was prepared with great care, and everything was delicious. The vegetables had a rich, sweet flavor, and the meat had an irresistible plump, springy texture. It pairs well with the original wine.
