We originally wanted soba, but most of the nearby restaurants were closed for their afternoon break, so we ended up here by chance—and it turned out to be one of the best meals we had. They offer two different soba thicknesses, so we ordered the Half & Half Cold Soba, Kamo Soba. The Kamo Soba had a delicate hint of yuzu, and the duck was tender with a pleasantly chewy texture. I found that the thicker noodles paired much better with the warm broth because of their hearty texture and stronger buckwheat flavor. The thinner noodles, on the other hand, were perfect with the cold dipping sauce. At the end of the meal, they poured hot soba water into the cup we had used for the dipping sauce, so we could enjoy the broth as a warm drink. It was such a comforting way to finish the meal. A wonderful place that we discovered by accident, and one I’d happily come back to👍!
View on GoogleWent here for lunch because friends suggested it. It didn't displease. We got there 30 minutes early and just beat the line up. Half/half soba was really tasty, the appetiser plate excellent especially the fermented Tofu! There was even a warming box for Nori and Sardine crackers. The owner even speaks some English and loves Elvis. Service was very efficient.
View on GoogleWow.! Take it from a certified soba snob: this is the stuff! Their regular soba is excellent, and the inaka soba is as thick and chewy as I’ve ever had. Nice calm atmosphere, good portions for the price (including very reasonable sake), and nice appetizers; we really liked the grilled miso, which had nice texture and rich flavor. It’s worth going out of your way to try this one!
View on GoogleVery traditional food and atmosphere. English was no problem. We went for a late lunch ~14:00 and didn’t have to wait. We had a tofu starter and soba which were all delicious. I’d recommend getting the “beginner” soba; I got half/half and found the other to be too firm for my liking
View on GoogleAs a student, the price was not as cheap as school cafeteria, but I had my lunch within 1000¥. Simple soba double flavors. The atmosphere here is quite relaxing and I feel welcomed by the madam’s smile. Nice interior with full of natures.
