One word. Delicious. Had dinner on my day 1 Solo trip. Tuesday evening. Not too busy. Asked for Omakase and I was not disappointed. 5 stars.

Great Ueno neighborhood sushi spot away from the crowds. Great staff. High quality sushi for great prices. English menu available. You can’t go wrong with any of the omakase set or the sashimi platter. Options for counter seats or table seats. We ate here twice during our stay. We’ll definitely come back in we’re ever in the area again

A true Edomae sushi experience" Every year I come to sushi Izu, it became a place I miss. It's a little retro in a good way but this is a true Edomae sushi experience: a chef that honed his skills & talents for +40 years, it shows and taste. I always enjoy his ongoing personality, everytime I come is memorable, i've never eaten the same sushi twice, very créative if you let him. (Saké selection is also great) I look forward to my next visit. I must adress Marie scandalous & unfair review: I posted a photo of the "english" menu thats is available IF you ask for it: The price are ABSOLUTELY the same! I addressed Marie review with the chef and he explained that the first option (cheapest menu set at 2200¥) is never ordered by his own customers so he didn't write it in the English menu. Foreigners (like me) do have a bigger appetite so I do ask for an extended "omakasé" course. (More pricey of course) For the best experience in Japan, learn the customs, a little bit of language and use google translate/lens. But don't accuse people wrongly because you can't read a Japanese menu!

Even though I don’t speak Japanese beyond the few usual basic phrases, the chef was very welcoming to me and friendly. I had the special selection, all of which was incredible. And I had a nice chat with one of the regulars. Thanks for the feast 🙏

Complete rip off. The 3000 yen menu was 7 pieces of low quality nigiri. I don’t understand why this place has good reviews?
