Shioman Udon Place (Near Sendagi Station) A hidden local gem just minutes from Sendagi Station, Shioman Udon Place is a small yet cosy eatery that’s perfect for tourists seeking authentic Japanese comfort food. The staff are warm and attentive, thoughtfully providing an English menu, which makes ordering easy and stress-free. Their udon noodles are slightly flatter than usual, giving them a smooth, silky texture. The broth is rich, well-balanced, and deeply satisfying. Shioman is especially known for their curry udon and classic soup udon, both of which showcase bold flavour and excellent craftsmanship. If you’re exploring the Yanaka–Sendagi area and want a comforting, local meal away from tourist crowds, this spot is well worth a stop.
View on GoogleI would happily drown in a bowl of their curry udon. Shrimp tempura as my life raft as I slip away. Warming, creamy, not too salty. Each time I have it, this meal makes me reflect and realise how incredible my life must be to have led me to sit here and eat this meal. If you come here, you too may have that moment of peace and self actualisation. Cash only.
View on GoogleAbsolutely delicious. The duck nanban curry udon was the best I have ever had. They have an English menu. Dinner for two was only 2160 yen.
View on GoogleA famous curry udon restaurant in Sendagi. Be prepared to wait in line at lunchtime. The curry udon is a delicious combination of rich and creamy curry and hard, firm udon. You can choose various toppings for the curry, but even the standard toppings will satisfy you. At night, the restaurant is open as an izakaya (Japanese style bar), where you can enjoy tempura and horse sashimi with highballs and beer. The menu has pictures of the dishes you are interested in and you can point to them to order.
View on GoogleVery nice small place, super tasty udon and a single plate is enough to satisfy your hunger. The waiter is nice and thoughtful and in general the place is nice clean and efficient, it's nice because it opens at 11 am and closes at 3 pm so everyone can eat when they want
