cheap lunch set (¥680) with big portion (kinda too big for us...), the food tastes good too!

Old school mom and pop western style set menu restaurant (洋食定食屋) in operation since 1986. Decor: 🌟 Menu was grubby and toilet had no sink to wash hands. Tiny shop could seat eight total. Plastic screens divided each table in half. Price & service: 🌟🌟🌟Price was affordable and service was normal. Food: 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Food was tasty and up to expectations. Tonkatsu was nicely crunchy on outside, chewy on inside. Multiple side dishes were piled up together. Not fine dining.😉 Recommended for fans of old school yoshoku teishoku places.

The portions are so huge it's a miracle they can run the restaurant at these prices. And it's delicious. Both the minced meat cutlet and chicken are fried crisp, and there's a mountain of vegetables. It also came with simmered root vegetables, a fried egg, rice, miso soup, and pasta. What was meant to be a light lunch left me so full I wouldn't need dinner. The restaurant has a charming Showa-era retro feel that makes it easy to imagine it's been operating for ages. It seems to be run by a married couple. I happened to pass by and had a lovely meal. Thank you for the food.

I arrived just after 12 on a weekday. You can't see inside from outside, so I cautiously opened the door and went in. Luckily there was a seat available. I ordered the lunch special (790円). That day's assortment was fried horse mackerel, a garlic-flavored potato croquette, hamburger steak with curry sauce topped with eggplant and cheese, rice, miso soup, and pickles. All this for 790円. Such volume and variety at this price. Great value. Customers kept coming and going without a break.

Visited around 12:25 on a weekday. The restaurant has a counter and a few tables, but I got in without waiting. A group might have had to wait a little. The lunch special was now 790円. I eat a fair amount, but as an office worker, even a regular portion provides plenty of calories. In these times, this much food at this price is ◎ value. I'll use it again.
