Comfortable, with a good clientele. The food is tasty. Just plain tasty. And cheap. However, this place allows cigarettes, so I can't recommend it to people who dislike cigarette smoking.
View on GoogleHow lovely that Tokyo has places like this. The interior looks like a converted snack bar, but you can enjoy all kinds of delicious Japanese dishes and chat with the owner and staff across the counter. The regulars seemed surprised, but that day there were 2 other first-time visitors besides me who had happened to drop in. The regulars found it unusual and struck up conversations, but maintained a comfortable distance, enjoyed their own time, and left. Enjoy a few bites, some drinks, and a chat with the owner, then leave promptly. I admired that stylish way of drinking and couldn't help wishing I had somewhere like this nearby. It's not expensive, and there are individual dishes with just the right substance for one person to nibble on. I imagine they serve Japan's seasonal bounty throughout the year. But it's intimidating to enter. And there's almost no information on Google Maps, so I got permission to post about it from the owner, who asked, "What brought you here?" He said he didn't want it to be exclusively for regulars and would like all kinds of people to come. For those visiting Tokyo on business, I recommend somewhere like this for a solo drink. It's within walking distance of Okachimachi too.

View on GoogleMaybe the interior is a converted bar?! It didn't have the atmosphere of a small Japanese eatery, but the food is delicious and it's a relaxing place!
