An Asian western cafe. Was here for a late lunch about 2 pm. We were the only customers. Curry was thick, savoury & slightly sweet. Not spicy. We enjoyed it
View on GoogleA quiet, somewhat aged, Western dish restaurant. One of the historical pioneers in Japan that tried to cook Western. By now most dishes are more or less Japanised, but you may enjoy the discrepancy of real Western and Japanised dishes here. After all this is the real Japan. Recommended for the curious visitors.

View on GoogleOchanomizu Ogawaken is a long-established Western confectionery founded in 1905. I visited with a friend on Saturday afternoon for just under an hour of tea. The restaurant is currently being renovated, but the 1st-floor café and sweets shop are open, available until 16:00 on Saturdays. We ordered Iced café au lait ¥730 Bavarois pudding ¥680 Custard pudding ¥680 Raisinwich ¥220 Everything was nicely sized, gently sweet, and easy to enjoy. The Raisinwich is reliably delicious as always. A Christmas tree decorated the interior, and we relaxed in the calm, warm-colored space. On the way out, I bought retort-packaged beef curry as a souvenir. I really do like long-established cafés.
