This is "Karaage Kei," a Nakatsu karaage specialty shop in Hongo-sanchome. We serve the authentic taste of Nakatsu, winner of the "Highest Gold Award" at a grand prix that brings together karaage from all over Japan. Our karaage is made by carefully marinating domestic young chicken in our signature raw marinade, handmade from scratch by our craftspeople, and prepared one piece at a time every day. Crispy and fragrant on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. We take the utmost care from preparation to cooking so you can fully taste the chicken's umami. We're also particular about the rice used in our bento, using Koshihikari grown in the natural surroundings of Maruoka-cho, Fukui Prefecture. With rice polished with heartfelt care, you can enjoy it with peace of mind and great taste…

Such an underrated karaage resto 🍗 The bentos are super affordable and I always order the momo karaage ☺️ The tartar karaage bento is also delicious‼️ You can eat in at the 2nd floor, but I wish they had provided free mayonnaise and other sauces haha

Out of all the places I tried, this one makes the BEST kaarage. The flavor is spot on, not too strong with just the slight hint of spice. The chicken is impossibly juicy and tender. The batter has perfect texture and crispiness. I haven't found better karaage in Japan. This location has a 2nd floor that you can eat at if you so desire, but if you have the time I recommend you take the 20 minute walk past Tokyo University and enjoy your karaage at the nearby shrine.

3.5/5 Ordered takeout. The fried chicken was mostly meat with very little breading. I've had kaarage with a bit more of a crispy exterior which I prefer but I wouldn't mind eating this. Got the 4 piece bento.
