Very cozy place for friends gathering and family dining. Enjoyed seafood miso and it was superb. Soup was used for porridge afterwards. I really enjoyed it.

Good food and beer!

We came here for a year-end party that day. The interior still has a Showa-era atmosphere, and it's a rare place that allows smoking! We didn't choose a set course this time, but individual dishes are fairly expensive, so a course might give you more peace of mind… Most of the dishes are seafood, but I think everything is delicious! This was my first time trying the sukiyaki here, and the meat was irresistible too! The staff prepare the sukiyaki right in front of you until it's ready to eat. The staff feel like motherly figures, and I think the service is polite and good. They can accommodate large groups, so it's suitable for parties too! However, the seating is on tatami, so if sitting on your knees is difficult, I think you should discuss it with the staff when booking. There are table seats downstairs… Having only one toilet is probably a downside…

Went to 鍋家 in Ueno Yushima⭐︎ Everything was truly delicious, and the two of us ordered extra sardines 3 times lol. Since it's getting cold, we also had the miso hot pot and shirako tempura⭐︎ The motherly staff served us with so much laughter, and it really, really soothed my weary heart♪ Thank you soooo much for the warm conversations too I drank too much as well!!!

I was bar-hopping around Ueno that day. That's when this place suddenly caught my eye. As its name suggests, it seemed to focus on hot pot dishes and seafood. Drawn to its wonderfully old-school exterior, I decided to go in. I was shown to the tatami seating area this time, and it was almost full. There were lots of regulars, so it seemed to be a very popular place. Looking at the menu on the wall, there were so many tempting dishes. I got straight to ordering. ■Draft beer（600円） First, I ordered a beer. The appetizer was shirasu. ■活あじ刺身たたき（1,400円） Fresh aji tataki. This was delicious. I couldn't help ordering sake. ■鳥つくね野菜煮（1,300円） Plenty of vegetables and chicken tsukune. The flavors had soaked in nicely, making it somehow comforting. ■稲庭うどん（950円） ■茶そば（700円） I ordered two kinds of noodles to finish. The 稲庭うどん was pleasantly chewy and delicious. The 茶そば had a lovely aroma and a refined charm. Although these were finishing dishes, both went well with sake, so I ended up drinking too much. So, although I found this place by chance, the staff were lovely, and the comfortable atmosphere and delicious food made me linger. There were plenty of other tasty-looking dishes, so I'll have to come back and try them. Next time I'd really like to try the hot pot too.
