Udon noodle restaurant

★ 3.221 reviews

Marugame Seimen places a noodle-making machine in every one of its shops nationwide to make fresh noodles from flour, then boils them on the spot to deliver that freshly boiled taste. Because "fresh udon is so delicious it's moving." This is something Marugame Seimen's founder experienced firsthand at a noodle mill in Kagawa, the home of sanuki udon. Good udon absorbs water well, and when boiled just right, gives off a lovely aroma of wheat flour, like rice that has just finished cooking.

The Marugame in the basement of Building 3 at Toyo University's Hakusan Campus. Not open to the general public (for various reasons, campus entry is limited to affiliated people only). Since it's a school cafeteria, large portions are free and the secret menu item is cafeteria curry. The tempura is huge too. Coupons accepted. Cashless payment available.

The staff member who looks like Akira Hokuto and seems to be dedicated solely to piling on green onions had an arrogant attitude and was extremely unpleasant. Please fire them immediately. And bring back the Indian who was on dishwashing duty

How are the employees at this Marugame Seimen being trained? I came by a little after noon when it was still quiet, but the staff's attitude is way too rude. The middle-aged woman(?) on staff has an especially terrible attitude. She responds in a raised voice and it puts me in a bad mood every time. Please address this urgently.

The noodle artisan's pile of green onions is insane. There's a part-timer, apparently Indian, who is dedicated to dishwashing, and they stare enviously from the dish station while you're eating, which is very unpleasant

Fast, cheap, and tasty—it's got all three, and it's hands down the strongest cafeteria on campus Free large portions are a lifesaver
