Excellent experience & one of my fave Japanese restaurants in Nezu. Every dish was carefully thought of & paired well with the individual sake. I enjoyed the sashimi from various cuts. He used quality condiments to elevate every dish. I couldn't decide on which were my fave, rly an amazing place to indulge. Diff kinda whales will be served according to the season. The owner shared how he started his passion, very educational. The venue is a short walk from the subway.

Outstanding place! The service was absolutely superb and the food is something you will remember for a lot of time. All whale dishes are matched with perfect sake.

Amazing food and sake with warm but unobtrusive hospitality. The host went out of his way to pair sake with the dishes (he also told me about a deal they had for the chef's menu), and the pairings were perfect with the wide and creative array of whale cuisine. It's clear that the chef and the host take the idea of terroir very seriously (I believe the chef is from the Boso Peninsula, where whale hunting takes place); much of the ingredients, such as the organic vegetables and traditionally ground panko as well as the whale meat and sake hail from the Boso. Some highlights were whale testicle sunomono (vinegared) which had a great toothsome texture, Koshigoi sake paired exquisitely with amazingly fresh and velvety hiramasa, saezuri whale sashimi, and whale steak. The space is convivial and comfortable for both single diners and groups. Apparently the shop is pursuing a plan to open up in New York. Good luck and thank you!
