I came here two times within 4 days. The food is excellent~ Like grandma's cook. I certainly recommend this small family runnning restaurant if you are staying nearby!

One of my favorite comfort food restaurant in Hongo. You should go to dinner if you stay in Homeikan. You can order the popular menu when you show this Japanese "ハンバーグオムレツ定食をお願いします".

For lunch today, my first visit to Kitchen Matsuba. It's a lovely place with that quintessential Showa-era yoshoku restaurant feel. I ordered crab cream croquettes and hamburg steak. The super-finely shredded cabbage is delicious (*´艸`*) Both the hamburg steak and crab cream croquettes have that dependable flavor everyone loves, making me feel nostalgic even though it was my first visit. I was worried because the rice bowl was very small, but rice refills are available 😆 Apparently the omelet is delicious, so I'd like to try it next time 😋

I often come here for lunch. I think it's one of the best yoshoku restaurants around Hongo. I've repeatedly ordered the crab cream croquette and hamburg steak set, and will probably keep doing so. The croquette coating is crisp, and the hamburg steak is an outstanding dish overflowing with deeply savory meat juices.
