No frills, locals only type of place. Great prices and the tonkatsu is on par with high-end restaurants that would cost twice as much. Tender meat, crunchy breaded crust cooked to perfection. Run by a nice elderly man (probably the owner). Definitely going back when I get a chance. This type of place needs to be supported. No English menu.

Cash only !! Arguably my the best food I had on my Japanese trip. It's run by a man who seems to be known by the neighborhood and people were waiting outside when we left.

For more than 25 years this has been my favorite tonkatsu place.

A long-established tonkatsu restaurant that has been loved for many years in Hongo-sanchome! On a weekday at 18:00, I went to a famous soba restaurant nearby but it was full, so while walking towards the station wondering what to do, I saw a sign and entered! I had known of its existence since I lived in Hongo-sanchome, it is a long-established store with a history of over 35 years since its founding! Since it's my first time, I ordered the orthodox tonkatsu set, the finish of the large Yamagata pork loin with soft, juicy fat and crispy, fine-grained breading stood out!
