I miss Osaka and Kyoto
View on GoogleI had the Hanako Special for 1450 yen. I made it double noodles, so I think there was an extra charge, but I forgot how much. The portion was huge, and when it arrived I flinched for a moment, but it was so delicious that I polished it off by myself. The thin noodles unique to Hiroshima style were so refined and very tasty. I also love that you can add as much sauce and mayonnaise as you like. The owner was a friendly person too.
View on GoogleAs other reviews mention, the attitude of the older male floor staff member was terrible. I could maybe understand it at a cheap place, but this kind of service is unacceptable at a place where the food alone costs over 2000 yen per person. The food wasn't bad (though it's different from what you'd eat in Hiroshima), and the kitchen staff seemed like good people, but the floor staff's behavior ruined everything. It was the staff's misunderstanding in the first place, yet we were blamed in an almost yelling tone as if it were our fault, and treated in a domineering way. We were told it couldn't be corrected because it was too much trouble. The fun atmosphere changed completely, and we headed home in the worst mood. Very disappointing, since we'd been looking forward to it.
View on GoogleWe went around dinnertime. When I asked, "I have a child with me—is that okay?" we were shown to our seats with a very unpleasant look. From that moment I thought, "Huh?", but I pulled myself together, ordered okonomiyaki, and enjoyed it. However, the service(?) was clearly different from the other tables—we had no sauce or mayonnaise—so when we finished and were paying, I asked what we needed to order to get those, and was yelled at: "We don't bring it out unless you ask!!!" It was our first visit, so the yelling was so loud I almost blurted out, "How can I ask if I didn't know!!!" To keep my child from being noisy, I let them watch YouTube on my phone, and we ate quickly so as not to bother anyone (my child is only a little over 2, so we went after they'd already eaten), but it was a terrible place that changes how it treats customers depending on the person. They were also angry at a food delivery person... come on, that person was there to pick up an order, and they got yelled at: "Hey! Wait outside!!!" When regulars or familiar faces came in, they were treated normally, and I vowed in my heart never to go again...
View on GoogleFirst visit. The restaurant was quiet, so I could eat at ease. It seems there are 4-person tables, single seats, and 2-person seats. We ordered grilled edamame loaded with garlic, seared mentaiko, fried Miyazaki chicken thigh, and the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki Hanako Special. So delicious the two of us finished everything in no time‼️ If I had to say something, I'd be even happier if the fried chicken had a distinctive flavor like shio koji or yuzu kosho. The Sapporo draft beer, which I hadn't had at a restaurant in a while, was delicious. I had a Chita highball for the first time; it has no harsh taste, so I recommend it. The Hiroshima-yaki, with thin-noodle yakisoba, green onions, and a thin batter, had a gentle flavor that whets the appetite, and with the sauce and the mayonnaise I don't usually eat, it got even more delicious😄. Next time I'll go to try the oyster ponzu and beef tendon ponzu😃
