First time visit on Friday around 3pm. There's only one other person, who looks like a regular. Very retro kissaten (old time Japanese cafe) with short vinyl chairs. The radio, clocks, and art are also visibly retro. The menu has English written on it too. An old lady runs this place, very nice and had a soft smile. You can smoke here, since there's ashtray on every table. I didn't detect a tobacco smell, but then no one was smoking. I had curry rice with sunnyside egg, also hot coffee. It was good, not too spicy even though I hardly tolerate spicy food. It had meat in bite-sized cube form, which was very easy to chew. The coffee is good, taste more on the smoky side than acid (I'm no expert but I like coffee, take this with a grain of salt). Sugar and cream is also served with the coffee. I got a chocolate snack but unsure if it's for everyone.

This cafe is a proper hidden gem. It’s probably one of the weirdest retro cafes I’ve come by. It’s very decrepit, yet very clean, but that’s exactly what I love about the place. They serve really tasty sandwiches too!

Visited around 14:00 on a weekday! Founded in Showa 30, the shop's interior remains there as though time has been sealed inside. Anyone nostalgic for that cigarette…💭 feeling might find themselves smiling. Countless Todai students must have come here too. This time I ordered iced coffee and toast (half)🍞 I was surprised that even a half was a full 1 slice! It seems to be run by a parent and child, and seeing the mother chatting with regulars was heartwarming. I hope it stays open forever! Thanks for the meal🙏 Payment is cash only☝️

A long-established coffee shop operating for over 60 years. Smoking is allowed, but it was near closing time and only 1 person was smoking, so it wasn't filled with smoke. Honestly, I wasn't moved by the vintage feel of the interior the way others have described. ¥850 for a cake and coffee set is cheap! The cake comes from a supplier, and the coffee tastes ordinary compared with specialty coffee shops. Even if the taste is ordinary, I think what matters is the feeling of drinking in this space while sensing the weight of the shop's history. The lady running it said she was somehow keeping the shop going, also affected by the coronavirus situation. Her husband passed away 3 years ago, and she now runs the shop with her second son. I hope it remains loved by the neighborhood for many years. 【If this helped, give it a like👍!】

I visited around 14:00 on a weekday and didn't see any other customers. The interior has an unpretentious Showa-era feel, or rather, it's unadorned and somewhat bare. There was only one kind of coffee, so I ordered the blend coffee. It tasted strong with an unpleasant bitterness, which suited my taste. The service felt a little aloof, but when I asked about the nearest station, they explained politely. I think it's a good shop for a casual, unpretentious visit.
