At lunchtime on Sunday, the long line at the main shop broke my resolve, so I went to the nearby takeaway-only shop. I could buy here without waiting. This time the seasoning was slightly milder than the strongly soy-sauce-flavored fried rice I previously ate at the restaurant, but it was still densely packed and satisfying. The gyoza wrappers were crisp and fragrant, with a chewy texture too, and delicious. Service is quick, so this may be more convenient than the main shop on days when speed matters.
View on Google2026.6 While passing 兆徳 on an errand, I lined up to visit for the first time in 7 years, but the line wasn’t moving... So I decided on takeaway this time. Ordered fried rice・gyoza (a choice of salt or soy sauce) for 1300円, choosing salt fried rice this time. Payment is cash or ペイペイ. A number is printed at the bottom of the receipt and called when your order is ready. It was ready in nearly 10 minutes, with disposable chopsticks, a plastic spoon, and gyoza sauce. The fried rice had simple ingredients and flavor, pleasantly not too rich. The gyoza were well browned without being overcooked, also to my liking. I appreciated being able to buy quickly even on Sunday.
View on GoogleEnjoy the signature egg fried rice while it’s hot! A 3-minute walk from 本駒込 Station, I visited 「中華 兆徳」 (takeaway-only shop). The main restaurant is very close and is one of the 100 best Chinese restaurants. Having finished lunch nearby with room left in my stomach, I went to the main restaurant around 13:30, only to find a line of more than 20 people. I gave up and visited this shop just nearby. There was no one waiting, so through the doorway I ordered egg fried rice for 900円 with a large portion for +200円 and paid. The fried rice is cooked after ordering, rather than prepared in advance. I waited a few minutes on the bench outside and collected it. Back home, the fried rice was still warm, and I enjoyed it almost as much as at the restaurant. I left about 2/3 and ate it 4 hours later. It was cold and had clumped in places; even reheating it in the microwave left it disappointing. This astonishingly flavorful fried rice made with only white rice, egg, and scallions really needs to be eaten freshly cooked! I enjoyed it to the last bite.
View on GooglePayPay accepted. Used it for takeaway. Prices are a little high, but portions are generous overall. The tomato and egg stir-fry was good, with fluffy eggs. The stir-fried vegetables were seasoned just right too. The fried rice tasted good, but perhaps because some time had passed, the grains no longer separated and it was rather firm.
View on GoogleThe takeaway-only shop of 「兆徳」, known for its queues. They also deliver nearby (from 2000円). I always order by phone beforehand and then pick it up. Sometimes the staff member answering the phone has somewhat questionable Japanese, but perhaps that’s part of the charm? The fried rice portions are generous, so older people who can’t eat much may eat half and save the rest for the next day, but it tastes good even cold. The popular deep-fried gyoza come with their thick topping sauce in a separate container, so you can enjoy them crispy at home too. There’s also a good-value fried rice and pan-fried gyoza set at lunchtime. PayPay accepted.
