Amazing 6 course omikase french with Japanese influence and ingredients menu. The husband cooks and the wife serves in this small 15 seat restaurant. Everything we were served was great, a terrine of raw fish and courgettes, monkfish, veal sweetbreads with Japanese mushrooms, Japanese beef with bordelaise and other courses, finished with an amazing peach dessert. Great french wine as well. Found this small restaurant on Google maps randomly as I was looking for a neighborhood restaurant that was highly rated and it did not disappoint. The husband trained in France and was amazed we found his restaurant. I think we were the only westerners that had dined there ever, which is exactly what I was looking for. Hoping more people discover Bistro taka. Also there is a nice shrine next door worth visiting before dinner. Great value for the quality and preparation. The reservation process is a little daunting since it is all in Japanese but Google translate made it possible.

【Yushima】Refined cooking and profound broth. The pride of a classic bistro that captivates treasured guests 「ビストロ タカ」stands along Yushima's tranquil streets. We visited this time for a meal with an important guest. The assured quality of every dish drew deep admiration from our guest, allowing us to offer the finest hospitality. An outstanding course built on precise classical French technique, beautifully highlighting the vitality of the ingredients. ■ Terrine of Daisen chicken from Tottori Prefecture Moist and beautifully presented, a fitting opening to the feast. The elegant umami of Daisen chicken is tightly concentrated, with the ingredient's pure flavor alive within its smooth texture. A consummate appetizer, harmonizing wonderfully with tangy pickles, mustard, and fresh salad. ■ Sea bass poêlé, clam broth and a fragrant breeze of basil This fish dish impressed everyone most deeply that day. Expert cooking rendered the skin astonishingly crisp and fragrant, while the flesh remained moist, plump, and juicy. The deeply nourishing richness of the clam broth, the textures of okra and tomato, and the elegant fragrance of basil formed a perfect trinity. A sublime dish that made us reluctant to leave even a drop of soup. ■ Crispy roasted pork belly The main meat dish truly embodied the pleasure and essence of a bistro. True to its name, the surface was beautifully crisp, while the inside was astonishingly rich and tender. The sweetness of the fine fat was elevated by a rich sauce and the carefully considered acidity of the condiments into an elegant flavor without any heaviness. ■ A tranquil finale For dessert, a pudding radiating classical, refined beauty. The deep, bittersweet caramel beautifully tightened the overall sweetness, and the lingering moments with warm coffee were a truly fitting close to a refined evening. 【Overall assessment】 Masterful cooking that showcases the chef's uncompromising technique, and an aesthetic of broth that resonates with all five senses. Beyond the obviously wonderful food, the service was unpretentious yet attentive, maintaining a comfortable distance. A restaurant where a host can bring treasured guests with such confidence is exceptionally rare. A sublime establishment for adults that Yushima should be proud of. Thank you sincerely for a rich and memorable experience.

We were kept waiting about 30 minutes before the first amuse arrived. Of course I understand the circumstances, as it's a small restaurant, but when I politely asked, "Will it take much longer?" the reply was extremely arrogant, along the lines of "So what?"… I found the manner of the lady serving us very difficult to like. Personally, I enjoy a wide range of places, from Michelin-starred restaurants to small independent establishments and red-lantern pubs. I try to visit appropriately, understanding each place's personality, characteristics, and price range, but… It was a disappointing experience in every respect. I think the food was about what you'd expect for the price. Rather salty.

I was meeting a friend for the first time in ages, so I looked for a restaurant around Ueno and came here. It's a cute place where we could relax and enjoy a lovely chat and delicious food. We ordered a course, and everything was delicious! The fish was especially amazing! I loved the sauce~ It was so good that, although it was a bit unseemly, I mopped up every bit of sauce with bread until the plate was clean. Dessert was delicious too. I'll visit again.
