A few minutes’ walk from Rikugien Gardens, we found this lovely bistro. We ordered beef tongue and fried fish for lunch, which are absolutely delicious. For a nice lunch set that includes appetizer, main course, dessert and coffee, we paid less than 2000 yen (13 US dollars) per person. Taken food quality and environment into consideration, I am convinced that it’s quite reasonable.
View on GoogleBistro O la la is the good place to have lunch and dinner. It is better to book the place if you go out as the group. Today I was the only male customer, full of high end house wives and madams. Lunch set is quite good deal with either soup or salad with drinks. When you come Rikugien, this is the best choice to have lunch.

View on Google5 minutes south of 駒込駅. It's along 本郷通り, on the 六義園 side. It's always crowded at lunchtime, but I came early that day—though it was already just after 12. The restaurant was already bustling with people, but I managed to get in. I shared a table. From the lunch menu, I ordered Dランチ(990円). It was 真鱈のソテー白ワインソース. It comes with salad or soup and bread or rice. I chose soup (vegetable and bacon consommé that day) and bread. The fish is wild-caught live fish delivered directly from 豊洲, and it was indeed fresh, springy, and delicious. The sauce was outstanding too. All this for 990円—what an amazingly good-value lunch.
View on GoogleOn a rainy weekday, I lined up 10 minutes before the 11:45 opening, but only just managed to get in. I thought I'd make a reservation next time. The lunch menu is only on the blackboard. I chose set C, 豚肉のブランケット(クリーム煮), with salad and bread. I also ordered coffee after the meal and the lunch dessert. They had posted a full-house notice out front, but customers kept coming in one after another, so the food and dessert took time to arrive. Even allowing for that, the flavor, atmosphere, and prices were wonderful. I've found another restaurant I'd like to visit again.
