Bharati Darjeeling is one of our go-to places for Sunday lunch. The biriyani set is my favorite, which is authentic, delicious and comes with a good portion. It is not just the food we enjoy at Bharati, but the conversation with Pradeep san, the owner. He is very kind, with a wealth of experience in Japan and has many stories to share.

I stopped here after visiting the university grounds and on my way to the National Diet. I ordered a Jhanti Thali. The manager I think has been in Japan for 30 years, but hasn't forgotten how to make classic Indian Thali. The dishes are not as spicy as what you'd get in India, but it's still very tasty. The naan bread was freshly baked and amazing. The prices are very reasonable andI hope to visit again.

One of the few places where the chef is Indian thus he can make a larger variety of rare dishes that are hard to come by in Tokyo like Paneer do pyaza or chole/chana masala or in a bihari style or jackfruit curry. Personally a huge fan of the paneer do pyaza. Highly recommended.

So good! I got the chicken Hyderabadi biryani and the samosa chaat, and everything was so flavourful! I’m always afraid to have a flavourless biryani but this one was intense and satisfying! Although I got a lassi, I also got an iced tea as service 🥰

We went here on our trip to Tokyo and the service was incredible, the food delicious, and we even left with some tips on the city. What more could you ask for?! Highly recommend this place!
