Great food, great sake selection. It is connected to a sake liqour store so you buy one for the road. Employees are very welcoming to foreigners but use translate on phone.
View on GoogleMy first visit with a friend. To sum it up in one phrase, this place was all about “everything is delicious”! The care put into the food came through from the very first small dish and aperitif, with seasoning that really brought out the ingredients’ natural flavors. The shirako ponzu was melt-in-your-mouth creamy without any fishiness, and perfectly balanced with the garnishes. The fried ginkgo nuts were fragrant too, with an addictive hint of bitterness. And the assorted sashimi platter was truly spectacular. Everything was exceptionally fresh, from the fatty salmon and richly flavorful tuna to the refreshing white fish. Each had its own distinct flavor, keeping things interesting to the very end. The tuna and green onion skewers were plump and juicy too, cooked just right. I think this is a place where you can’t go wrong with anything you order. Another delight was the incredibly extensive Japanese sake lineup. There were so many varieties, from dry sake to ones with gorgeous aromas, and we enjoyed pairing them with the food. The staff carefully explained their recommendations too, making us want to compare all kinds of sake. A wonderful place to take your time enjoying food and drinks with a friend in a relaxed atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back. Especially recommended for anyone who loves delicious food and Japanese sake.
View on GoogleMy first visit to a place I’d been curious about. We had a set course with all-you-can-drink. The food was quite substantial: sashimi, salad, fried dishes, simmered fish, soba, and dessert. You might not finish it unless you’re hungry. The all-you-can-drink selection covered the basics, including beer and sours, but Japanese sake had only 2 options: cold or hot. There was so much food that we couldn’t drink that much, so à la carte might be more enjoyable than a course with all-you-can-drink. You’d also have more Japanese sake to choose from that way.
View on GoogleA place in Yushima where you can fully enjoy Japanese sake and hegi soba. Of course, many of the other menu items are delicious too, and it’s a good spot for a casual drink with friends. It also allows smoking, which has become rare around here lately. I saw lots of people ordering hegi soba to finish their meal, so please give it a try too. It’s delicious.
View on GoogleIt was a Friday night during cherry blossom season, but we got in without a reservation—a hidden gem We sat at the counter and had delicious dishes like those in the photos I could come here alone too, so I’d love it if they offered dinner sets or hegi soba sets I’ll be in Ueno for work during the day next month, so I hope they serve lunch for around 900円 PayPay isn’t accepted
