It was my first time to try Monjayaki and I'm glad I did. He helped us to put on the grill. It smelled really good. I'm not used to see ash tray in restaurant, that was different! You can't go eat alone, you need 2 guest. Sitting down on the tatami was a lovely authentic experience. I loved it.

Our dinner was a 10! The experience is cooking your own okonomiyaki, but the waitress is attentive the whole time and helps you. First she made one, and then we made the other. Underrated place!!! The meat was excellent too

Perfect for dinner with friends! The interior is nice and feels clean. Budget per person: 2000-3000円. Not just the okonomiyaki and monja, but the other side dishes were delicious too. Precisely because the portions are on the small side, we could enjoy various kinds of okonomiyaki and monja.

The portion for 1 person is small. Majo Sugawara could probably easily eat 800 of them. I think Giant Shirota would exceed 1,000.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy the original monjayaki of Tokyo's shitamachi neighborhoods. You can cook it freestyle, with your favorite toppings and seasonings. As the notice in the restaurant says, the original monja style does not require noisily chopping cabbage on the griddle. Tsukishima monja is not the original monja of Tokyo's shitamachi. I can only smile wryly at restaurants that impose mysterious rules for monjayaki and nag about them. I also often hear people from other regions compare okonomiyaki and monja and say that monja does not feel like good value or fill them up, but originally, 『okonomiyaki=a meal』 『monja=a snack』. Monja was something children enjoyed at dagashi candy shops. (There are fewer of those shops now) As an adult, I enjoy monja as a snack while leisurely having a drink^^ As other reviewers say when they call it 『small』, the portions are somewhat small, but you can try different kinds and share, so personally I find them just right. As for the prices, I do not think they are 『expensive』. I think they are doing their best with their prices in these times. (Tsukishima monja is more expensive, and they nag more, haha) If you want quantity and low prices, I recommend a chain izakaya or a standing bar.
