Homer Simpson goes to Moe's bar to hangout with the boys. People around here comes here. Except this one has the booze. Ramen. And stir fry with one of those woks powered by decommissioned jet engines. Cash only. Japanese inspired Chinese joint. Asian Americans who knows the language can talk to them in Chinese. Chill staff. Salt of the earth type of people who hung tin coffee cups from their backpacks like cowboys of old back in China long time ago.

It’s me and my bf’s first time in Tokyo and we just landed. They are cash only and unfortunately we didn’t have any on us (we already ordered by the time we found out). My bf went around the area to find an ATM that accepted our card while I stayed in the restaurant. The man working there slid me this paper and I translated it via google translate basically saying that the meal was free (maybe because he saw how stressed we were). It touched us so much and it was such a kind gesture to give us a free meal. My bf eventually got some cash and we thanked the man and the staff and paid for our meal. Thank you again to the man working here. Thank you very much for your kindness. It was our first time in Tokyo and we were feeling a bit anxious, but your warm support truly moved us. It became a wonderful memory.

Tenshin Ramen @ Shin-Mikawashima 📍 1-21-8 Higashi-Ogu, Arakawa-ku, Tokyo 🚶 3-minute walk from Shin-Mikawashima Station 🈺 Phone reservations available [Weekdays/Sat] 11:30 - 14:00, 18:00 - 01:00 [Sun] 17:00 - 03:00 [Holidays] Open every day Meat Tsukemen (Large) 1050 yen Half-fried rice 350 yen A shop I've wanted to visit for a long time 🏬 In short, it's a town Chinese restaurant 🥟 The interior feels like an izakaya 🤔 The attitude might seem cold at first glance, but they are very kind 🥰 It's a shop where you can enjoy a different kind of Japanese-Chinese cuisine! Cost-effective, lots of menu items, and very voluminous, it's very good ♪ ------------- ▶︎ Meat Tsukemen A mysterious soup with the scent of Chinese spices! There's a sesame flavor and the scent of star anise, it's a Chinese taste with acidity and a hint of pork bone 🇨🇳 It's not an unpleasant taste, so it's easy to eat 😆 It's not that the taste is amazing, but it's an addictive taste! And above all, the meat is delicious 💮 It's like char siu that melts and falls apart, or rather tonpo-ro 🥰 Makes me really want rice 💕 ▶︎ Half-fried rice This is super delicious 😋 Light and fluffy, the base is simple with just salt 🔥 Depending on the shop, sometimes there's a lot of oil, but this one is quite light and good 🙆 And this amount for 350 yen is a great deal 🉐

Tenshin Ramen' is about a 3-minute walk from Shin-Mikawashima Station towards Tabata. It is a town Chinese restaurant that has been loved by locals for a long time, standing as if it blends into the residential area of Higashi-Ogu, Arakawa-ku. I visited alone on a holiday at 19:20. The interior has a structure that spreads to the side, and it is more spacious than I thought. With a wood-based interior, the atmosphere is calm and quite good. Both counter and table seats are available. The number of menu items is very abundant, about 130 types. From ramen, snacks for alcohol, single-plate dishes, to rice and bowl dishes. From there, I ordered 'Chin-jao-rosu-don (850 yen including tax)'. The 'Chin-jao-rosu-don' is wrapped in a glossy sauce, and shredded green peppers, bamboo shoots, and chicken are beautifully intertwined. When I take a bite, the chicken is moist and soft, and it is clear that the seasoning is done carefully. As you chew, the flavor spreads, and the green scent of the green pepper is gentle. The 'crunchy' texture of the bamboo shoots is a pleasant accent. The seasoning is not too sweet, and the balance between the richness of soy sauce and the sharpness of the oil is exquisite. It is a 'white rice killer' bowl that naturally makes the rice go down well. The thickness of the sauce is not excessive, and I was impressed that it was kept to a level that brings the ingredients together well. The included soup also has a gentle taste and does not disturb the lingering taste of the stir-fry. It gives more satisfaction than the price of 850 yen. Although not flashy, it is a shop where you can feel the certain skills that accompany daily life. Why not add it as one of the candidates for dining in the Shin-Mikawashima area?
