My wife and I came here 10 years ago when we were filing our marriage license in Japan it’s around the corner from the Arakawa district City Hall. They are known for their portion sizes but also because it taste great in this age when everything is going up, I’m surprised you’re able to maintain these prices and I think everybody eating here appreciates it too. It’s deep in a neighborhood not normally on tourist maps but it’s definitely worth the trip if you’re in the mood for great Japanese style Chinese cuisine.
View on GoogleThe staff was very friendly and nice. The menu was very affordable and the portion size was very large. The place felt authentic but it was a bit dirty. The taste was okay and for the price it was a good deal. I wouldn't go here again but if you want to eat a lot for cheap or just want to try it out as an experience seeing and eating a bit or all of the big portion size and experiencing the vibe of this restaurant then you can go for it.
View on GoogleMachi-chuka is a mom-and-pop-style Chinese restaurant that serves everything from ramen to curry and teishoku. The food and atmosphere are usually nostalgic, but the taste is pretty good. Enjoy!
View on GoogleMy choose was tonkatsudon. When I saw the plate's size, I was amazed. It's huge!!! The taste is also nice. I'll definitely go back to there and try other dishes.
View on GoogleIf you are a gaijin not knowing a word of Japanese but want to try Machi-chuka here, just say “Cha-han kudasai” then finish it, pay 700 yen, and go out.
