Good tastes of kakiage soba. And others
View on GoogleYummy local noodle shop
View on GoogleAn udon shop right in front of Mikawashima Station. About 10 seats along an L-shaped counter. Besides udon, they also have soba and rice dishes. I ordered the Tori Negi Udon for 900円 Piping hot broth with the gentle flavor of kombu dashi. I feel like a lot of shops in Tokyo have strong broths of bonito dashi and soy sauce, so this leans more toward Kansai-style flavor. The noodles had just the right firmness. A bowl that made its popularity easy to understand. Next time I'd like to try the oyakodon too. ▽--------------------------▽ ○Shop name: かみや ○Tabelog rating 3.30 (as of 2025/09/12) ○1-min walk from Mikawashima Station ○Budget ¥1,000/person ○東京都荒川区東日暮里3丁目40-15 ○Payment: cash only ○Hours 11:30〜14:30/18:00〜24:30 ※Closed: Sundays & public holidays △--------------------------△ 【Reservations】 Not accepted 【Recommended for】 Solo dining 【Crowd level】 As of 11:30 on a Friday, 1 customer ahead of me. View on GoogleGentle dashi flavor Visited around 9 p.m. on a day off. Not exactly full, but there were always 5 or more customers coming and going, which shows how popular it is. I ordered the set menu for 950円: kitsune udon + kakiage don. They boil the udon after the order comes in, so it takes about 12 minutes to be ready. The kitsune udon had a very gentle dashi and mild saltiness. The kitsune fried tofu was well soaked in a sweet soy flavor and delicious. The udon was springy and plump, a bit different from Sanuki, but very tasty. The kakiage don, though a small size, was packed with things like scallops, and I was satisfied. A shop I'd like to visit again.
View on GoogleMy style is drinking and then finishing with udon or soba. I go around 10 p.m. after the sauna. The side dishes like vinegared wakame and onsen tamago are delicious. The owner seems gruff, but isn't really like that. I'm the type who likes to drink slowly alone, so I don't really like being talked to. The comfortable distance here is nice.
