Gyoza-ha-ichiryu is a local Chinese restaurant I. MACHIYA. You will be surprised how big the dumplings are as well as how strong the Mega highball is. Enjoy!

No frills, but friendly, little local favourite place for Japanese GYOZA (like Chinese dumplings). They have other dishes, and cold beer, and cocktails, as well. Takeaway or eat in. Right beside the tram tracks. Delicious!!

Very nice stuff

「餃子は一龍」, located near Machiya 2-chome Station. Every area has its own representative gyoza specialty shop, and for Machiya Station, it's probably this one. Founded in 1947. It's a takeout-only shop with a small factory on the adjacent lot, but in 2022 it also opened an izakaya-style location. It's firmly rooted in Machiya. At ￥700 for 6 pieces, it seems a little pricey if you only look at the number, but that's to be expected since they're 2–3 times the normal size. They also use beef cheek, so they're juicy and flavorful without relying on fats like beef tallow or lard. The volume was such that even one piece seemed satisfying. If you're on your own, you'll be plenty full. Read another way, it becomes 「餃子は一流」 ("the gyoza is first-class"). I feel like you can see their strong confidence in their gyoza.

An izakaya-style location run by 「一龍」, the famous gyoza shop in Machiya. Since 「餃子は一龍 町屋駅前店」 opened in March '19, this location had been closed for a while. The mix set (1080円), which lets you enjoy all seven flavors of their signature gyoza, is quite a good deal as a drinking snack, but if you're drinking alone, this alone might fill you up... Drinks are pretty reasonable too, with a large bottle of beer at 600円.
