Hospitality was wonderful! Nice family owned restaurant with all of the basic Japanese Staples! Will definitely be a regular here!
View on GoogleBlissful katsu curry for 920 yen. #Akishima #PopularDinerYanagiya #KatsuCurry I'm embarrassed that I've been traveling around Japan for a Japanese food rediscovery project, yet I missed that there was such a great restaurant in my own neighborhood... The personality of the owner and customers, the interior that feels like time has stopped, it was all a wonderful time. And the katsu curry. I love spicy food, but for katsu curry, balance and harmony are everything. That's it. This katsu curry has it all and is delicious. The crispy texture of the katsu against the flavor of the meat. In addition to the sense of unity between the curry sauce and the ingredients, when you eat the meat or the onions, the individuality of the taste is indescribable. Whether mixed or eaten separately, it's delicious. Thank you very much for the meal. I want to visit often when I'm in the area. The free coffee service at the end is also a nice touch.
View on GoogleI dropped by a Showa-retro diner called "Yanagiya". I went in because I felt a delicious atmosphere from the outside. From the menu to the seats, it feels like time-traveling to an old-fashioned diner. There are many items on the menu, and I chose the tanmen. This was the right choice. It has a gentle flavor that soaked into my body as I was recovering from a cold. There was a free ice cream bar service for children, and it felt as comforting as returning to my parents' home. Thank you for the meal 😋
View on Google01/28/2024 First visit with my wife A shop I've been checking out for a while. A nostalgic town diner that feels like a family business. I hope shops like this stay around. From set meals to ramen, you can also customize by combining side dishes with rice. It's a Japanese-style family restaurant that even caters to drinkers, right. It's a very peaceful atmosphere with old neighbors and families with children visiting. Bottled beer is compulsory education for adults, 633! Deep-fried tofu stew is appreciated. Pickles are Chinese cabbage, with a crisp, firm finish and a sprinkle of "tasty white powder" that evokes nostalgia. The offal stew (motsu-ni) doesn't have much broth but is well-cooked and delicious. Boiled spinach (ohitashi) is also good. While drinking hot sake with fried horse mackerel (aji-fry), my wife had tanmen. We finished with this for now, but I think we can enjoy the potential of the menu on a return visit. Thank you for the meal~♬
View on GoogleThis is a diner with a Showa-retro atmosphere. I entered on a weekday Monday after 12:30 PM. There were 2 groups of customers totaling 6 people, and after 20 minutes the place was full. It seems there are many regulars around, and older people were ordering their usual. I ordered the katsu curry and waited 5 minutes. It's a bit small, but the taste is delicious, and the flavor is also Showa-retro. Finally, I was served iced coffee in a small glass. If you want volume, order the large size!
