Charming little tantanmen ramen shop with a twist. Offer up their take on tantanmen with a great selection of sides. Retro decor inside, counter seating downstairs with some small tables upstairs. Recommend their regular ramen if it’s your first time. Their Yurinchi chicken was great too! Cash & PayPay available (possibly more ways to pay)
View on GoogleVery local tantanmen place. The flavours were good, but the noodles weren't rinsed properly: they were stuck together in a big knot and had the leftover flour on them. I might have got a slight food poisoning from them too (but it could have been from something else I had that day). Looking at the other reviews it was probably a one off mistake though.
View on GoogleVery good tantan (Dandan) noodles. They have both with soup and without soup. Both are very good and can't go wrong with either. The fried rice is fantastic. They put their roast pork in with the fried rice and makes for an incredible flavor combination with the Tantanmen.
View on GoogleAs it is a tantanmen specialty shop, there are many fans of the soup-less version, but the version with soup is also highly rated. Many people have tried both, and the impression is that many say it's "hard to choose between them". The tantanmen with soup looks well-prepared from the start, what is called the "carefully made type". The soup has the richness of sesame, but the balance isn't too heavy, and it's a type that is unexpectedly easy to drink. The spiciness is about mild, and the numbness from Sichuan pepper (hua jiao) can also be adjusted, so it's good to be able to tailor it to your own preference. There are also many people who enjoy changing the flavor in the second half because you can add more numbness at the table. The noodles are medium-thin to thin, and easy to eat as they go well with the soup. The seasoned minced meat is also quite spicy, and it feels like just the right richness when mixed with the soup. As an overall evaluation, many say, "It's not the type that is extremely sharp, but it's properly delicious.
View on GoogleA famous shop that Akishima is proud of for tantanmen The regular tantanmen is of course super delicious. I also tried the limited edition Salt Sour-Tangmen, and this is also good. Salty soup, sourness, and spiciness mix exquisitely. Since it is Sour-Tangmen, if you add more vinegar, the taste changes again and you can eat it deliciously. I want to visit regularly to eat it.
