I love miso katsu, so I ordered it when I found it on the menu! I would've liked a little more miso sauce. The tonjiru is delicious♡

I remember very well when this shop first opened. For years, I would simply pass in front of it every day while working. Then a “かつや” opened near my home, and that was where I first got to enjoy the taste of “かつや”. Still, I kept wanting to visit “かつや昭島店”, the first “かつや” I'd seen, someday, and finally managed to go with a friend. The rice bowls, like katsudon and oyakodon, really are delicious! Since then, I've visited many times with various friends.

☕️Good morning♪ This tonkotsu-loving ramen dad loses all self-control and jumps at it whenever he sees the word “tonkotsu”😅 Tonkotsu chicken katsudon ¥869 I tried the new menu item from the katsudon chain かつや🤗 Judging by the menu photo, it looks like tonkotsu ramen topped with chicken katsu, but I wanted to find out what it actually was, so I gave it a try. I could've eaten at the shop, but I got takeout for the cat girl and ice-coooold beer waiting at home🤣 Tonkotsu tsukemen dipping sauce poured over rice, topped with ramen toppings like char siu and menma, plus chicken katsu… Does that description help you picture it? It's tasty. A decent portion too. As a new menu venture for a katsudon chain, this could work in its own way. But considering the ingredients and the concept, I felt there was no real need to put chicken katsu on it💦 I suppose it can't be helped since it's a katsudon shop, but without insisting on katsu, thick-cut char siu or karaage rather than chicken katsu might suit the tonkotsu flavor better. Well, I enjoyed it, so I'll call it good, but if you ask whether I'd eat it again, ???… that's my answer. かつや, if you're going to go for it, just make tonkotsu ramenー🍜🍜🍜🤣
