My first visit. Came for lunch. I came to 一八, but when I looked at the menu, what do you know—there was ramen!! And 大勝軒, no less!! Had to eat it. So first I ordered the recommended katsu curry and something called mori soba. The people I came with ordered in much the same way… Insane portions... Us middle-aged guys stuffed ourselves like we were students again, lol. But the katsu curry was as good as people say. The home-style curry had visible pieces of onion, which felt comforting. There was what I think was beef tendon simmered in it too, ridiculously good. Then pork loin katsu on top… pure indulgence. And the 大勝軒 tsukemen had a strong, rich flavor, so that went down too. The noodles were thick and firm, steadily hammering away at my fullness receptors〜 Sooo satisfied. Seriously enjoyed eating until I was completely stuffed. Couldn't get any work done afterward, lmao.
View on GoogleVisited around 17:30 and had chuka ramen with thick noodles. The noodles were good, but the soup lacked umami and richness, so it wasn't tasty. There were lots of izakaya customers, so it might work as a final dish after drinks.
View on GoogleThe yakitori shop at the same premises puts out its noren curtain and opens at lunchtime. I was confused too, but don't worry even though it's a yakitori shop. One of its features is the extensive menu, including set meals.
View on GoogleI'd like to share my experience visiting 「東池袋大勝軒 昭島店」. I entered before 13:00 on October 11, 2023, and since it was lunchtime, customers kept coming in. The seating is spacious, and the interior also has an izakaya atmosphere. This time I ordered their signature tsukemen. Its defining feature is a clear shoyu broth with a pronounced seafood aroma that makes you smile with the first slurp, supported by an underlying animal-based stock. It is quite sweet with almost no heat, and a nice touch is being able to adjust it to your liking with the ichimi chili powder on the table. The noodles are thick, plump, and chewy, and 220g makes for a substantial portion. That portion size in particular was more satisfying than I expected. Toppings include scallions, chashu, egg, and nori, making it visually satisfying too. The overall balance leans sweet, but that is also what makes it addictive. Although this place also serves as an izakaya, I really felt that the tsukemen deserves to be thoroughly enjoyed. If you're curious, do visit!
View on GoogleThis is the only 大勝軒 with spicy abura soba! I've eaten abura soba at all sorts of places, but this one is the best! Diced chashu, finely shredded scallions, and a raw egg. I ask for just the yolk, request garlic, and add lots of chili oil and vinegar. Pure bliss!
