"Densetsu no Sutadonya" offers a wide range of menu items that embody the founder's wish: "I want people to eat delicious food until they're full and keep going strong." The signature "Sutadon" is a bowl packed with stamina and volume, made by stir-frying pork belly in a secret garlic soy sauce passed down since the founding and serving it over a large helping of rice. Besides sutadon, we offer a variety of dishes, including a garlic-free ginger pork bowl, karaage, as well as set meals, curry, ramen, and abura soba. You can enjoy it on all kinds of occasions, for lunch, dinner, or a late-night meal, and it's also welcoming to women, customers with children, and families. "Densetsu n…

I stopped by the Akishima branch for the first time in a while. Since it was the day before a public holiday, I thought the seats would be full, but luckily there was space at the counter. The female staff member who served us showed us to our seats right after we bought our meal tickets and carefully repeated back the order on the tickets; the service was really good and the food was delicious, so I want to go eat there again. It's called the Akishima branch, but it's closer to the neighboring Nakagami Station. The other day I got a 100 yen discount coupon, so I went again last weekend. The taste was delicious as always, and the staff's service was good too. I'd only gotten discount coupons a few times before, back when my workplace was in Shinjuku and the Shinjuku Nishiguchi flagship opened, so I really appreciate the discount coupon. I don't know how long they'll keep giving them out, but I'll go again (lol) The additional photo is 1.25x rice and 1.5x meat.

Came to eat here for the first time in a while! Delicious! Satisfied! Ordered an extra raw egg and made it into TKG! After eating a bit, I sprinkled on the sutadon spice and went to town on it (lol) so happy 😆 If you need to leave your seat, just put down the "Away from seat" card, and even if you step away briefly, your food won't get cleared. It'd be nice if other places had this too~ 😆

Ant Works Co., Ltd. is a company that operates a chain of restaurants such as "Densetsu no Sutadonya," which sells sutadon, karaage, set meals, and more. Former boxer Shozo Hashimoto opened "Sapporo Ramen Kunitachi" in Kunitachi, Tokyo in 1971[1][2]. Partly owing to his caring personality, the staff-meal rice bowl Hashimoto devised because he wanted his employees to "eat until they're full" was the prototype of sutadon[1][2][3]. This staff-meal bowl became the talk among regulars, customers seeking it began to fill the shop, and before long it became the main product[1][2]. Kunitachi is a student town home to Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo Metropolitan Kunitachi High School, Tokyo Metropolitan Fifth Commercial High School, Kunitachi College of Music's affiliated junior and senior high schools, and more, so it's thought that sutadon, being cheap, tasty, and filling, was popular with hungry growing male students[1][3]. Hashimoto, who was also adored by his employees, passed away in 1987 at the age of 50. The management of the three stores operating at the time was entrusted to their respective store managers. One took over "Sapporo Ramen Kunitachi," while the managers of the other two stores (Kunitachi Higashi and Kokubunji) jointly founded Ant Works in March 1989[1]. Therefore, there is currently no direct connection between Ant Works and "Sapporo Ramen Kunitachi"[1]. In September 2000, in response to enthusiastic requests from regulars, "Meibutsu Sutadon no Mise" opened in Hachioji with "sutadon" as its flagship product. At this time, the dish's name changed from the katakana spelling "スタ丼" to the hiragana spelling "すた丼". In May 2001, the organization was restructured as "Ant Works Co., Ltd." "Meibutsu Sutadon no Mise" was renamed "Densetsu no Sutadonya" in 2004 and opened its first store within Tokyo's 23 wards[4]. In 2006 it opened a store in Shinatatsu, where sutadon accounted for more than half of the total sales of the "Shinatatsu Donburi Five," which serve rice bowl dishes[4]. Following its success at Shinatatsu, it accelerated its store expansion[4] From Wikipedia Anyway, it was delicious The parking lot is spacious

Densetsu no Sutadonya has finally opened in Akishima too! Their sister yakiniku restaurant was kind of hard to walk into, but this time they have a solid takeout selection too, so I have a feeling it's going to be popular. All the staff were polite. Some elderly customers and families who weren't used to the meal ticket machine struggled a bit, but the staff helped them courteously. The sutadon is reliably delicious. The portion is pretty big, so for light eaters and women, I think the mini size is plenty! The ginger pork bowl felt a bit bland to me. For those looking for the strong flavor of sutadon, the saltiness might stand out. The kids' menu only has curry, but it comes with quite a lot of karaage, so I recommend it too. Table seating is limited, so if you're bringing small children, you might want to be prepared to wait. The karaage set might taste better if you change up the flavor with the included sauce or the doubanjiang on the table. The flavor itself does seem a bit bland. My impressions ended up being comparisons with other locations, but the deliciousness itself is guaranteed, so do give it a try.
