This agodashi (flying fish) ramen changed my life. I will forever reference events before and after this bowl as it was a turning point in my existence on this planet.

View on GoogleThe flying-fish dashi ramen is still going strong after 20 years! Visit date: 8月26日(火) 11:15〜11:40 When my workplace was nearby, I used to visit 太公望 all the time. Above all, their soup without artificial flavor enhancers suited my taste, so I liked the basic soy sauce ramen, especially 岩のりラーメン. But now that I'm firmly a salt-ramen fan, this time I ordered 塩ラーメン900円. 「Please try it as it is first. Afterward, use the yuzu kosho/charred scallions/grated garlic as you like」, they said, serving a small plate of condiments first. After a 6〜7-minute wait, the 塩ラーメン arrived with 岩海苔, defying my expectations in a good way (lol). First, a sip of soup. Moved by the unchanged flavor, I then simply kept eating. The medium-thick noodles picked up the soup beautifully, with soup-soaked 岩海苔 clinging to them and thinly shredded menma joining in. In no time by my standards… I finished the 塩ラーメン in 7 minutes! It's perfectly good on its own, and the flavor-changing condiments are a welcome service too… Happy that the flying-fish dashi (agodashi) ramen was still going strong after 20 years, I placed my ramen bowl and paper cup on the counter (clearing dishes is self-service), wiped the table with a cloth, and left full and satisfied. The same delicious flavor more than made up for the inconvenient connections. Perhaps I'll have とうがらしラーメン next time. Thank you very much for the meal!!
View on GoogleI visited because I was curious about the flying-fish dashi ramen. The interior felt clean, and there was alcohol sanitizer at the entrance. They also had one chair for small children, so families can dine here. The 醤油ラーメン had no artificial flavor enhancers, with a gentle soy sauce flavor that was very easy to enjoy. I thought the flying-fish dashi might have a stronger character, but the soup had plenty of fish umami and a mild flavor. A light fish aroma lingered in the aftertaste. It paired very well with the curly noodles. The 油そば had a strong flavor that gained extra punch with garlic, coated the thick noodles nicely, and was very delicious. I've been several times, but I overeat every time. The staff's service is also very good, so it feels comfortable. They treated us kindly when I visited with my family during the COVID pandemic too.
View on GoogleA countryside ramen shop with assorted varieties. 濃口正油ラーメン950円, seasoned egg 130円. Dark-colored soy sauce, slightly sweet and light, boosted with fish powder. The difference in the stronger version is probably whether it has fish powder. It goes well with curly noodles and is tasty but ordinary; it doesn't feel like the flying-fish dashi advertised on the sign. The menma is so thin it disguises itself as noodles, making it slightly tricky to separate out for children who dislike it. 餃子420円 with mountain yam is unusual, with a somewhat soft, gentle preparation. An L-shaped counter with 12 seats. A neighborhood-Chinese-style ramen shop with a slight country-house smell. Recommended flavor changes, chili ramen, 油そば, and various other things. Slightly expensive, and the wakame is unnecessary.
