A shop tucked away beside a large, conspicuous モスバーガー. Even the lights are hard to see, making it difficult to tell if it's open… haha. Once inside, a cheerful motherly lady called out, “Welcome!!” “Yes! Yes! Thank you!” She was very energetic and pleasant. The contrast with the dark atmosphere outside surprised me😂 She's so efficient, lively, and lovely! ●I had the asari clam kamameshi. There are 3 kinds of sets, with various side dishes, which was somehow interesting. Springy shrimp, a cream croquette with a crab claw, a vinegared dish, a yuba roll, chawanmushi, clear soup, and kamameshi. Really satisfying portions! The crab cream croquette was delicious, but I couldn't really taste the crab. Instead, the vinegared dish had plenty of crabmeat. Oh? That's interesting too, haha. Maybe the chawanmushi was homemade? It was a little salty. The kamameshi was lightly seasoned, with a clear asari flavor and plenty of chunky clam meat. Delicious⸜(*ˊᗜˋ*)⸝ The desserts were pretty good too✨️ The homemade one was perhaps apple compote cooked in wine. I actually don't like compote much. But this wasn't too sweet and was delicious🍎💕 You can't go wrong with sweet potato pie. Haha. The matcha roll cake had a strong matcha flavor and was delicious!! It's a somewhat unusual restaurant, but I like its distinctive atmosphere tooദ്ദി ˃ ᵕ ˂ ) The prices certainly aren't cheap, but with these portions I don't think there's anything to complain about. Satisfying✨️ Maybe the restaurant has only just reopened? I want them to do well, so I'll visit again(*ˊᵕˋ* )♡ Thank you for the meal!!
View on GoogleThis was my first visit. At first glance, the exterior looks rather intimidating to enter😅 But I visited because of its good reputation. It's a kamameshi restaurant, but I'd heard the tonkatsu was impressive, so I chose the top-grade domestic pork loin tonkatsu. It was a whopping 400g🤥 My first time having 400g. A 400g tonkatsu with hagama rice, dessert & a drink for ¥1500 is cheaap😚 A regular tonkatsu restaurant would probably charge over ¥3000. The meat was very thick, but tender enough to bite through. The fatty parts were especially delicious😃 Service was a little slow, perhaps because of the hagama rice & frying 400g of meat, but it was delicious☺️ Return visit. I'd decided to have steak on my next visit😃 I chose the weekend-only rib loin steak, 300g for ¥1900. This was a huge portion too. The meat comes sliced. It was also more tender than I'd imagined, which surprised me. You dip it in onion sauce, which was delicious, but I would have liked about one more sauce. Once again, I enjoyed every bite♪
View on Google(August 2023) Since I was in 秋川 for the first time in a while, I'd firmly decided lunch had to be at きこり, and finally visited! I think kamameshi is the main offering, but I expected the set meals to be fairly impressive too. Even the rice in the set meals is kamameshi, so there's no way it wouldn't be delicious. I ordered the tonkatsu set meal for 1,500円, the only one shown in a photo, and the fried oyster set for 1,300円. I'm not sure how the fried oyster set differs from the fried oyster set meal for 1,400円…. The tonkatsu was different from the photo, surprising me in a good way with its thickness. I couldn't help saying, “Huge!” There were also so many fried oysters that I wondered whether we could eat them all. Thinking I'd never expected to stuff my mouth with tonkatsu, I bit through the fatty part of the loin. Worried about finishing, I alternated with salad, miso soup, pickles, and rice to change flavors and ate it all. With my stomach completely full, the grapefruit jelly dessert refreshed my mouth, clearing away all the tonkatsu flavor. They said leftovers could be taken home, so I took home 2 fried oysters. There are so many intriguing menu items that I definitely want to explore this restaurant further. The meal was very delicious. (June 2024) Second visit, with 2 companions. We ordered tororo, unagi, and shogayaki. We couldn't finish the unagi and shogayaki, so took them home. Once again, the meal was very delicious.
View on GoogleThe Japanese-style restaurant きこり in あきる野市 has changed. ? The main dish, kamameshi, still tasted the same as before. I'm not sure whether the owner has changed. The accompanying dishes seem a little different. But the prices have also gone up slightly. I wonder why (haha). The kamameshi set is 2300円❗ The tempura set is 2600円❗ It seems a little pricier than before, but the kamameshi was delicious.
View on GoogleThis is a kamameshi restaurant near モスバーガー in 秋川. Besides kamameshi, it also has tonkatsu, shogayaki, and other dishes I'd recommend. I've visited several times, and recommend the top-grade loin tonkatsu set meal, which comes with a 400g tonkatsu. It's best to order the tonkatsu set meal by phone in advance. The other set meals are delicious too. About 3 cars can park in front, but the space is small, so large cars may struggle. The prices are reasonable, and the food is generous, delicious, and cheap!
