View on Google●Today's menu ・Homemade tender chicken spicy curry ¥1000 (tax included) ●Thoughts A gallery café & bar at the East Exit of Kitasenju Station, Adachi-ku, Tokyo☕️🍺 Today I ordered the curry from the lunch menu. The set comes with spicy curry, salad, ohitashi, miso soup, pickles, and a drink🍛 The curry has a rich, spicy flavor and is loaded with ingredients. The homemade chicken in particular is tender and really satisfying. It comes with lots of side dishes, so it's super filling🤤 They often hold painting exhibitions and events too, so be sure to check them out🌟 Thanks for the meal🙏 ※Prices and other details may differ. Please keep this in mind.
View on GoogleTom's Cafe, about a 7-minute walk from the East Exit of JR Kitasenju Station, is a hideaway café & restaurant for grown-ups in a renovated old house. The chef-manager, Mochizuki, who is from Shizuoka and used to work as a scuba diving instructor overseas, serves dishes and snacks that change daily. Every seat has a power outlet, and Free Wi-Fi is available too. After 5 p.m. there's a table charge & otoshi (3 small dishes) of 800 yen, but none at lunch. Actually, I'd been here before and had the omurice for lunch. I remember the result was~ pretty disappointing. However, it was renewed on April 15, 2022. I heard the owner is the same but the chef running it has changed. In that case, I decided to give it a visit. When I went around 1 p.m. on a weekend, there were already a few customers in the 18-seat space with counter and tables. When I said it was just one, I was shown to a two-person table. On the menu: fried oyster and small side dish set meal, dandan-style healthy soy milk cold soba, and homemade herb chicken and seasoned egg spicy curry (with salad and drink) for 1,000 yen. You can choose your drink from orange juice, grapefruit juice, green tea, or oolong tea. *Fried oyster and small side dish set meal 1,000 yen Since it's fried, I thought it would take a while, but it came in under 10 minutes. Speedy service is much appreciated at lunchtime. On a triangular wooden plate were vegetables topped with French dressing and 3 smallish fried oysters. The small side dish was greens and fried tofu simmered in broth, with a gentle dashi soaked all the way through. There's a decent amount of it, so it helps you finish the rice that the fried oysters alone can't. The miso soup has finely chopped ingredients that feel like a lot of work went into it, and the rice is good too. It's a bit on the small side for lunch for a man with a big appetite, but isn't it plenty for café food? The food is carefully made, which I like.
View on GoogleA stylish restaurant. The friendly owner was great too. I had the spice curry with homemade tender chicken and seasoned egg. The distinctive tableware is cute and makes the food look great. When it was brought over, the curry smelled wonderful. The curry is rich, and the chicken is soft and squishy, almost like it was steamed. The coffee that comes after the meal was properly drip-brewed, rich and delicious. The lunch menu has a wide range of options, and you can also choose set meals like these: Mackerel simmered in miso set meal, karaage set meal, nikomi stew set meal
View on GoogleI had the stewed hamburg steak set meal. The hamburg steak was super tender; when you put it in your mouth it just falls apart while you're huffing from the heat. The sauce it's stewed in is superb too! The master seems really kind and is always smiling. A café that seems to be loved by the locals. The portion is a little small, which left me wanting more, but every dish tastes great, so I recommend it! There were power outlets at the counter too!
