A seafood izakaya run directly by 'Otani Shoten,' a tuna intermediate wholesaler at Adachi Market. Lunch centers on rice bowls, and at dinner, alongside our standard menu using Otani Shoten's tuna, we also offer a daily menu using seafood bought that day. We also sell ready-made dishes at the storefront from 16:00. Sashimi, fillets, grilled fish, simmered fish, fried items, and more are sold, changing daily. Assorted sashimi (1000 yen/1 serving) is available for takeout. We also accept takeout reservations by phone in advance.

My own unofficial【Top 100 Donburi Shops】series (seafood bowl)! The tuna nouten-don,【limited to 5 per day】 A 10-minute walk from Kita-Senju Station, I visited 'Maguro Otani.' Arrived just before the 11:30 Sunday opening, with nobody waiting. Got in right as it opened. Ordered the【limited to 5 per day】 tuna nouten-don, 1,650 yen. Served in about 5 minutes. Comes with miso soup and ginger. Eaten with wasabi soy sauce. A simple bowl: sushi rice with shredded nori and just 6 slices of tuna nouten. The tuna nouten has just the right amount of fat and is meltingly tender; the fat has a refreshing sweetness and the lean meat's umami comes through strongly too, delicious. Even better than chutoro, really tasty. Enjoyed it right to the last bite. If the vinegar in the sushi rice were a little milder, it'd be perfect!

Visited around 1 PM on a weekday, 2026.01.12. I was wandering around near Kita-Senju Station looking for lunch, and found this place a little out of the way. The vending machine in front of the shop caught my eye. That day the bara chirashi was sold out, so I ordered the kaisendon. Maybe because it was a weekday and slightly past the lunch rush, there was no one else there. Inside there were knick-knacks, alcohol, tairyō-bata (big-catch flags), and standing placards gifted for the shop's anniversaries. It's calm with a nice atmosphere. The kaisendon tasted good overall. There were some fish I'm not used to eating, and I thought it must be pretty hard to serve this flavor at this price. The shop name has "maguro" in it, so tuna is their thing. They also had things like the tuna brain bowl. Next time I'd like to try the tuna menu. Dinner seems like a sure bet too, so I'd like to go.

Went for a weekday lunch in October 2025. A smallish tuna specialty restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Kita-Senju Station toward the riverbank. The menu with prices is posted outside and you can see inside from the street, so it's easy to go in alone even if you're not drinking. The interior isn't izakaya-like either, and fairly quiet. Lunch is affordable, starting from 1,100 yen. Got in without waiting. ◎Hours Closed Wednesdays ◎Lunch 11:30〜14:00 Last order 13:30 Tekka-don / Bara chirashi-don 1,100 yen Negitoro-don / Seafood bowl / Tuna brain bowl 1,650 yen Medium fatty tuna bowl 2,200 yen Comes with miso soup and a small dessert (As of October 2025) ◎Interior About 3〜4 big-catch flags (tairyō-bata) are on display. There's also a roughly 1 m tuna ornament and autographs from visitors. About 5〜6 counter seats and around 3 tables. From the counter you can see the toppings in a clear glass case. ◎Lunch Ordered the tekka-don for 1,100 yen. You pour your own tea into the cups at the counter. You grab your own disposable chopsticks in clear plastic bags. The tuna is delicious. Too bad the rice was a bit on the hard side. I was happy that the gari (sweet-vinegar pickled ginger) and wasabi came separately in small dishes. I wondered what the black thing in the small dish was—it was coffee jelly. In the lunch photo it's cream-colored, so maybe sometimes it's something like pudding. The soy sauce is a large Kikkoman bottle.

Kita-Senju【Maguro Otani】 A super popular izakaya where you can enjoy amazing tuna🤤🍣 Famous for its celebrity regulars🤫🏇 It's sooooo delicious yet so reasonably priced, I was shocked👀✨ Lunch service during the day, izakaya at night🏮 This time I went for the evening service🏃‍♂️💨 In front of the shop there's a vending machine called Do-Hiemon where you can buy tuna 24 hours🐟🐟 The naming sense is so cute🤣lol High ceilings, so it feels open👌✨ Easy to walk in even as a woman alone🙆‍♀️ Kicked things off with a highball toast🍺 The otoshi was tuna nuta🥳 The sweet miso was the best〜👏👏 The chef's recommended sashimi🐟 This much for 1,000 yen per person😳🎊 ※See the first photo There was freshly caught fish too🎣 Zero fishy smell!! Everything was rich!!! The tuna is waaay too thick!!!!! This alone was pretty satisfying…💯 Also ordered the limited-quantity ago-ni👌 Apparently it sells out fast, and everyone who came in after us ordered it too👀✨ The ago-ni was huge too🤣🤣 It melts in your mouth without chewing… Who knew tuna was so good simmered…🤤 Switched to sake to go with the food🍶 The 3-type tasting set is a super deal🉐 Tuna from start to finish🐟 Totally recommended for tuna lovers😉🍣 You'll be super satisfied, guaranteed🙆‍♀️💯

Visited Thursday at 18:30. One group was already there. Came with a course booked in advance. The Maguro Zanmai course comes with all-you-can-drink for 6,000 yen / tax included / per person, and you get to eat so much tuna you'll be stuffed—seriously, tons of it! Starting with simmered tuna as the otoshi, then sashimi (the mild acidity of the lean akami is the best), magutaku (eaten wrapped in Korean seaweed, so it's rich), a simmered dish (flavor soaked all the way through), a fried dish (wrapped in shiso and fried, yet tender and flaky), tuna yukhoe (marinated with just the right sweetness, goes down smooth), and tekka-maki (stuffed by this point)—totally satisfied!! I want to come back and try the à la carte dishes too. Lunch looks tempting too. Plus, with an advance reservation and depending on the price plan, you can also enjoy seafood teppanyaki, so there's something to look forward to over several visits.
