名物 東京やきとん 宿場町 本店 🍢 I visited a popular yakiton restaurant in Kita-Senju. I had their signature yakiton, liver sashimi, simmered offal and grilled mentai mayo. The yakiton is fragrantly grilled over charcoal, letting you fully enjoy the different textures of each cut and the umami of the pork. The liver sashimi is prepared using low-temperature cooking, giving it a moist, smooth texture. It pairs well with sesame oil and is a dish that keeps the drinks flowing. The simmered offal is thoroughly infused with the richness of miso, and the tender offal and tofu are superb. It's served piping hot, so it's delicious right to the end. The grilled mentai mayo combines a fragrant grilled base with the gentle heat of mentaiko and the mellowness of mayonnaise, making it a very satisfying accompaniment to drinks too. The restaurant is lively yet comfortable, and the staff's service leaves a pleasant impression. Food arrives relatively smoothly, making it perfect for an after-work drink or a gathering with friends. It's a place I'd like to stop by again when visiting Kita-Senju.

My first visit! The staff were cheerful, and the place was really lively! The yakiton was delicious! It faces the street, so it was easy to find too! The dashimaki tamago was also very delicious! Service was fast, and I was very satisfied! I'll visit again

Visited in March 2021 東京やきとん 宿場町店, about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of JR Kita-Senju Station, is an izakaya mainly serving yakiton and yakitori. Alongside carefully skewered pork and chicken grilled over binchotan charcoal, it offers a wide variety of individual dishes. The restaurant prides itself on its comfortable interior, welcoming casual visits after work, all kinds of parties and guests with children. From the west exit, follow the street in front of the station towards National Route 4 (Nikko Kaido), then turn right at the Don Quijote intersection onto Shukubamachi Street (the former Nikko Kaido). Pass Hotel Coco Grand, which houses the Kita-Senju branch of Domremy Outlet, then go past Ohashi, famous as one of Tokyo's 3 great stewed-offal restaurants. The restaurant is on the right. When I visited around 19:00 on a weekend, above the brightly lit large sign reading 「名物 東京やきとん」 were lanterns advertising binchotan grilling, grilled offal, tsukune, kushikatsu, karaage, horse sashimi, simmered offal and chuka soba. That certainly stands out~. Through the beckoning-cat curtain, the 45-seat restaurant was lively. I said I was alone and was shown to the 4-seat counter. The menu is just 1 double-sided sheet and this week's recommendations. It's good that the selection is focused. Drinks are a little expensive: chuhai, highballs and sours are 418 yen, and a medium bottle of beer (500ml) is 638 yen. A bottle of shochu is 3,080 yen, but ice for mixing is 330 yen. I'd like at least the ice and water to be free. After 22:00, a late-night surcharge (10%) is added. Yakiton and yakitori start at 132 yen, which you could call cheap. I couldn't find the chuka soba advertised on the lantern, but there was fried rice and yakisoba for 638 yen. *Hoppy set 480 (excluding tax) Not much shochu in it, but the cloth hand towel is nice! *Recommended skewer assortment (5 skewers) 680 yen (excluding tax) Pork belly・tongue・heart・thigh・head meat? The skewers arrived in about 10 minutes. The portions weren't particularly large, which makes it a tough sell as a grilled-offal shop in an old downtown neighbourhood. *Shochu refill 200 yen (excluding tax) They seem to measure the shochu precisely, so it's still a small amount. They could be less exact about it here, like Hakata Gekijo or Dandadan. I tried their prized yakiton, but didn't feel like ordering more and left.
