Visited for lunch😊 It's a curry business from the Matsuya group🍛 The key point is you can choose the spice level for free👌 Besides that, for an extra fee, you could choose rice amount, 2 kinds of curry roux, and toppings at the ticket vending machine✌️ The curry was already good at Matsuya, but I felt it had evolved, becoming even spicier and more flavorful👍 As for the ingredients, the carrots and potatoes kept their shape well, and the meat, while thoroughly stewed, still had a melty texture, and falls apart tenderly when you bite into it, which I felt made it good value👍 ※As for COVID measures, there was a disinfectant dispenser at the entrance. There was no thermometer. Partitions on the counters and tables were properly installed.

The Matsuya chain's curry shop! I'd been meaning to go. The Kita-Ayase branch is a combined shop inside a Matsuya; I heard about the 100-yen tonjiru campaign, ate the katsu curry from the 500-yen curry festival in the shop, and took out the chicken butter curry, also 500 yen, plus 2 tonjiru. It has a different character from Katsuya's katsu curry, but I thought it was on the same level. Katsuya also serves it for 500 yen during their appreciation festival, but Katsuya's regular price is higher, after all.

I had the “Hamburg Omelette, large size, level-3 extra spicy,” and spice-wise it felt a bit lacking, but it was cheap, filling, and delicious.

Seriously, the rice is way too awful. The grains are hollow, the texture is bad, and you can't taste any sweetness or umami. Did they process rice meant for animal feed? Maybe it isn't even rice to begin with. That's how bad it is. You might not notice it as much when it's warm, but it's obvious once it cools. Good rice is delicious even when cold. Old rice can't be called delicious when cold, but it's edible. Matsuya's rice, once it cools, feels like it's not rice but something shaped like rice. It makes me think the curry is so salty to hide the taste of this rice-looking stuff.

Ordered the vegetable pork loin butter curry Personally, I don't think Matsuya's curry is delicious at all. But since this is supposedly a curry specialty shop (though this one's attached), I gave it a try... I don't know if the attached shop's “Normal” and the specialty shop's “Original” are the same or different, but basically they don't suit my taste, so this time I went with the “Butter Curry” ....Hmm, as expected, I don't find it “delicious.” Honestly, finishing it was painful. I guess I just don't click with whoever's in charge of Matsuya's curry. This “★1” rating isn't a rating of this shop as a Matsuya; probably even at another My Curry Shokudo, it'd still be “★1”. Also, Matsuya doesn't stock “sauce” in the first place, but the curry I ordered didn't have any “sauce” on it. So are they saying dip the katsu in the curry and eat it? I used the soy sauce and ponzu that were there, but still, it'd be better to have “sauce.” The staff's greetings weren't particularly a problem, unlike what other reviews say. Well, maybe they fixed it because it was written in reviews.
