Ki Soba Kashiwa-ya, located on the West side of Kita Senju Station on Kyu Nikko Kaido, was established in 1904. Although the restaurant has an extensive menu, I think of it as a soba restaurant and generally order Tenzaru jou [fancy cold soba noodles with shrimp and vegetable tempura]. The shrimp are enormous! Of course, I order cold nihon-shu to drink and pickles. There is seating on the first floor as well as on the second floor. The check has a cartoon of a male and female kappa dining on soba. Yoku hairu nama Kana mu [I'm sure you'll come here often.] Ah, oishī [Ah, delicious] A Kita Senju gem.

View on GoogleMeals are delicious.
View on GoogleThere is often a line in front of the shop on weekends or peak hours, but because the staff is efficient, the turnover is quite fast. This time I visited around 12:00 noon, just at lunchtime. The interior has a solid, classic feel unique to a long-established shop, and it was a calm atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal. This time I ordered the chikara udon in a large portion; the noodles are soft, and the soup with a strong dashi flavor is very delicious. The large portion is quite filling, and I think the regular portion is also satisfying enough. From the atmosphere of the building to the food, it was a charming shop that I wanted to keep a record of.
