勝めし屋 本店Kachi Meshi Ya Honten
Located in Adachi-ku, Tokyo, with the nearest station being Kitasenju, which is very convenient with the Tokyo Skytree Line, subway, and JR lines all stopping there. A restaurant proud of its set meals and drinks. "We want people to enjoy delicious karaage and stir-fried vegetables easily, to their heart's content" — that's the thought with which we started "Katsumeshiya." Set meal restaurants these days tend to be chains, but at our restaurant, the set meals are made by our staff with time, effort, and heart. Even if you have to wait in line a bit, even if the price seems a little high, as long as you can eat a delicious meal… In a restaurant industry where such dedicated shops are popular, with the concept "Health through food!", our first location opened in 2018 in Kitasenju, Adachi-ku.…

Had lunch at Katsumeshiya. This time I ordered the salt-grilled mackerel set meal. This restaurant grills the fish after you order, so it takes about 10–15 minutes to come out, but the upside is that you get it fresh off the grill. The mackerel arrived with crisp, fragrant skin and plump flesh. It was nicely fatty and so tasty it kept me going back for more rice. The set comes with rice, miso soup, small side dishes, and more, so it's well balanced and satisfying. The interior has a casual, easy-to-walk-into diner atmosphere, and it seemed easy to use for lunch. Since you can really savor freshly grilled fish, I think it's a great choice when you want a grilled fish set meal around Kitasenju. You buy a meal ticket first and hand it to the staff. Cards and QR payment (PayPay) are accepted.
View on Google【25.02.22】 At lunchtime, I made a reservation with Hot Pepper's new "Seat Hold" feature and went. Right now you can use a 500 yen coupon. It's a prepay system via ticket machine; if you're using the coupon, let a staff member know first, enter your order on the ticket machine, and then ask the staff to operate the machine before completing payment. The difference is paid in cash or PayPay, but with PayPay it's after you're seated. This time I ordered the Jankara set meal. The sides were 2 pieces of salt karaage and pork & onion stir-fry. The strong seasoning makes the rice go down fast. I wasn't very hungry this time so I got a regular portion of rice, but for a good balance between sides and rice, you're better off getting a large or more. I was satisfied.
View on GoogleI'd been curious about this place for ages and finally got to go since I happened to be nearby around lunchtime! After 12, customers kept streaming in one after another, so I could tell it's a popular spot. The menu is extensive, and for some items you can choose the amount of meat in the main dish and the amount of rice, which is really appreciated by people who don't eat that much (me included). This time I ordered the liver and garlic chive stir-fry set meal. The bold seasoning made the rice go down fast! Next time I want to try their signature dish and the karaage. Thanks for the meal!
View on GoogleI went to "Katsumeshiya Main Store" in Kitasenju. It's a diner centered on set meals, and both the exterior and interior feel new. Seating is mostly tables, plus one raised tatami area, so it's easy to walk into whether you're with family or on your own. All seats being non-smoking was nice too. It's about an 8–10 minute walk from Kitasenju Station. I can't quite call it close to the station, but it's worth the short walk. It's open from lunch through dinner, and I'm glad the menu has such a wide variety. The "karaage set meal" is apparently popular, so I ordered it again this time. The piping-hot karaage was crispy and goes perfectly with rice. The garnishes and side dishes are carefully made too, so the rice goes down fast. The rice portions are "on the generous side." Especially at lunch, some days have a "free large rice" service, so it's very satisfying. It also uses a meal-ticket system, so ordering is smooth. Payment is straightforward, and dishes often come out quickly, which helps when you're short on time. The staff were friendly and approachable — a place that makes you think, "I'd like to come again." Prices are reasonable too, perfect for everyday dining. Especially recommended for fans of hearty, stamina-boosting set meals or fried food.
View on GoogleFrom the West Exit of Kitasenju Station, go through Kitaroad 1010, cross Nikko Kaido, and keep going straight — you'll see it on your right. It's a bit of a walk, but if you think of it as good exercise, it's just the right distance. The interior had an izakaya-like vibe, and they also served snacks and drinks. This time I ordered katsu curry (large rice). Crispy outside, juicy inside, and delicious. It comes with miso soup too. I was also curious about the "Jankara set meal" and "Janjan set meal," but at around 1,700 yen for a regular portion, they're a bit pricey. That said, the portions are hearty, so they're satisfying. It was the kind of set meal place you suddenly find yourself craving.
