Incredible tendon place that I will return to when I am in Tokyo again. The taste is great (one of the best tendons I have had) and price is also good for the amount you will get. Service is relatively quick considering that the tempura is cooked only after you order. There are about eight counter seats and two table seats on tatami mats (enough for another eight people). Cash only.
View on GoogleA fantastic little tempura restaurant off the shotengai shopping street in Kita Senju. The restaurant is old, and has a real downtown Tokyo authenticity about it. Judging by the photos on display, this restaurant has been in the family for a two or three generations. It servies the best tendon I have ever had by a long shot. The master makes it right there in front of you, preparing and cooking everything carefully. However, because he takes his time, the restaurant may not be ideal for people in a rush. It only seats 14 people and is popular. When I arrived there were four people (two couples) waiting outside. I queued for 30-40 minutes, then after I got inside, the food took another 15-20 minutes to be served. The wait was 100% worth it. It was a holiday, I wasn't in a rush, so ordered a beer and relaxed. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleThe best tempura place in Tokyo. Just one guy doing everything from preparing, cooking, and serving the food right in front of you. Felt like I was in a Midnight Diner episode. What an intimate experience to end our Tokyo trip.
View on GoogleI’m a customer from Taiwan and my friend recommended this restaurant very much. Their tempura is very delicious, they’re crispy but not greasy. You can actually taste the food’s inside. I have been to this restaurant 3 times during my 7-day travel in Japan. I’ll definitely come here again when visiting Japan.
View on GoogleYup, as much as you like to hide, the aroma of your tempuras had traveled worldwide.
