When I visited Kitasenju on a business trip, I was looking for somewhere to enjoy a quiet drink alone and stopped by “ちゃんこ大和龍,” feeling a connection with the name. Speaking with the owner, I learned he used to be a sumo wrestler, and apparently his ring name was Yamatoryu? The tuna chutoro sashimi I had first was fresh, with an impressively rich flavor. The freshly fried satsuma-age was also carefully prepared, making the drinks go down naturally. Most seats are booths, but there's also a counter where you can comfortably spend time alone. Considering the food, the prices felt reasonable. I think it's especially suited to people wanting a quiet drink at night while sightseeing or on a business trip.
View on GoogleThe handmade satsuma-age and fresh sashimi were so delicious!! The presentation was beautiful too, and the lady and gentleman running it were so kind!! I'll definitely go again! Thank you for such a happy time♪ Next time, I'd like to bring friends or family and have chanko nabe!! Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleAs of 10/25, they closed at 23:00. Since it's in a back alley, it took a little courage to go in, but the food and drinks were delicious, and I was very satisfied. The satsuma-age in particular was fluffy, springy, and thick. I'd never had satsuma-age this delicious before… The restaurant was quiet that day, and they even gave us complimentary crispy aji bones, which really impressed me! I ordered chuhai, and the staff said, “Be careful—we put in a double measure of good shochu!” I don't know whether that's usual or they happened to have some alcohol left over then, but the lemon high was ridiculously good. Chanko nabe for two, grilled shirako, aji tataki, satsuma-age, and 8 drinks came to just under 10 thousand yen. There are plenty of cheaper izakaya around there, but including the atmosphere, it was extremely satisfying✨ I'll go again!
View on GoogleA restaurant serving chanko nabe and Japanese food. The chanko nabe comes in salt and miso flavors, and apparently 8 out of 10 choose salt. I tried both, and both were delicious, but I preferred the salt version. The sashimi, soy-marinated ikura, and ankimo were delicious too, but above all, the satsuma-age was great! A recommended restaurant. The wife's service is a little tsundere.
View on GoogleI stopped by for drinks with friends. We had satsuma-age and fried mehikari, finishing with salt-flavored chanko nabe. The flavor is every bit as good as everyone's reviews say. The salt chanko nabe, enjoyed with ground sesame and the broth, is especially superb. I was so absorbed in the delicious food that I forgot the all-important photos (cry).
