Spanish restaurant

A regional Spanish restaurant tucked farther into the backstreets of Kitasenju's bar alley. It offers a wide selection of Spanish natural wines and sherry.

I was in the mood for Spanish food, so I searched, made a reservation, and visited for the first time. The entrance is narrow, but the restaurant extends quite far back. The drinks selection consisted of about 10 wines by the glass, roughly twice as many sherries by the glass, other alcoholic drinks, and bottled drinks. The food leaned more toward small plates than pintxos, and I think there were about 20 items in total, including individual dishes and mains. The owner behind the counter just inside the entrance wasn't particularly friendly. The female staff member was attentive and showed a sense of hospitality. Overall, the alcohol seemed a little overpriced. As for the food, this is just our personal wish, but we'd have liked a few more pintxos and small plates. Everything had a fairly strong flavor, which kept the wine flowing. Per person, 4 glasses of wine(80cc, 880 yen a glass), an assorted appetizer platter, and individual dishes, about 3 dishes in total, came to 7,500 yen. It might be a little pricey for everyday visits.

Visited after 20:00 on a day off as our second stop. There were counter seats available, so we were seated right away. However, it seemed they are usually often fully booked. Since it was our second stop, we kept things light, but everything we ate was delicious. The snack made with choux pastry served as the otoshi was especially delicious. The caldoso was a soupy rice dish with a demi-glace-style flavor, and we were told the ingredients change with the season. There's a wide variety of wines and sherries too, and for drinks alone, I thought the prices weren't excessively high. 【What we ordered】※Total 9,240 yen including the cover charge(880 yen) ・White chicken liver mousse(1,210 yen) ・Porcini and rabbit caldoso(1,870 yen)×2 ・Glass of wine(880 yen) ・Sherry(770 yen) ・Sherry(880 yen)
