Hiyashi chuka: 800 yen The noodles were cold with a nice texture. The chashu topping was quite salty. Everything else was passable. The sauce is on the sweet side, but adding karashi mustard made it just right. I'll visit again. Thanks for the meal!!

Every time I passed by, there was a line of people wanting taiyaki, so I finally went into this shop I'd been curious about for ages. Stepping through the noren, it's a diner space that feels like slipping back in time to the Showa era. The tables and chairs are somehow nostalgic, and the unpretentious warmth naturally makes you relax☺️ The taiyaki is delicious of course, but it was cold that day so I ordered "oshiruko." It was full of moderately sweet red bean paste and plump grilled mochi, a taste that gently loosened up my chilled body. It warmed my heart too🍡 Payment is cash only, and the system of paying on the spot when your order arrives feels old-fashioned and easy to understand, which I liked. It was a shop with a pleasant little "human rhythm" like that. In Nishiarai, it's the perfect spot when you want to enjoy warm sweets and a quiet moment.

When I was a child, there were lots of shops like かどや around. It's a shop where the Showa era has remained just as it was. The food samples, the atmosphere inside, and the taste of the ramen and tokoroten remind me of the old days. I wish them prosperity for years to come.

To the famous shop 「かどや」 at Nishiarai Daishi. It's a shop with an old-fashioned atmosphere that makes you want to stop by on your way back from visiting the temple! The imagawayaki here is lightly toasty on the outside and moist inside. You can tell the moment you hold it! By the way, it's piping hot, so watch out for burns⚠️ The red bean paste isn't too sweet, with a rustic, gentle flavor. The balance with the batter is just right, and before you know it you want another one—irresistible🎶 Rather than tourist-trap prices, it has an old-fashioned reassuring feel, which is another nice point. If you come to Nishiarai Daishi, this might be the imagawayaki you'll want to grab first. One thing: when there's a line you have to queue along the wall, but the sign on the wall is hard to understand, so every time people end up over at the neighboring shop across the street...
