A long-established coffee shop that caught my eye every time I drove past. Smoking is allowed, so the interior is divided into areas, making it fine even for people who dislike smoke at lunchtime! It's a coffee shop full of Showa-era atmosphere, attracting all kinds of customers, from office workers having lunch to high school students and groups of older people. My daughter had ダブルカレーランチ1050円, ツナのクリームパスタ950円, each with soup and a drink. I thought the lunch prices were reasonable, but low-rated reviews say the portions are small! I'm not sure why big eaters have such high expectations here. For anyone with a normal appetite, the portions are perfectly sufficient, so I thought you could enjoy your meal without worry. The coffee was delicious. Ahh! So good(^O^) A repeat visit is a must! Thank you for the meal! I'll definitely be back m(_ _)m

It's a retro coffee shop. I stopped by for lunch and had keema curry. It tasted pretty good, and they served curry powder separately so you could adjust the heat. However, I usually find regular portions sufficient anywhere, but the portion here really was small. At 1,000円 including coffee after the meal, I suppose that's unavoidable with rising prices. As for smoking, nobody was smoking that day, so I can't say. There was no cigarette smell.

Maybe I should visit sometime. That well-known coffee shop in 南花畑, a living encyclopedia of the Showa era. On my way to work, I saw a mother and daughter coming out. The mother was saying, “So lovely~ so lovely~,” and her daughter said, “Right! And she's beautiful too!” They looked incredibly satisfied! It must be good!

南花畑, 足立区. A coffee shop established in 1984. It's at the northern edge of Tokyo's 23 wards, and access by public transport is extremely difficult. There's parking behind the shop. The interior is well cleaned and stylishly decorated. It may be an overused phrase, but “retro coffee shop” fits perfectly. It was early in the morning, so I ordered the breakfast set. Ham toast, salad, a boiled egg, and iced tea for 600円 was a bargain. Of course, it tasted good too. Thank you for the meal.

Brick-style walls, leather-look vinyl seating, jazz musician figurines, old tabletop arcade machines, and even slightly dated issues of the travel magazine ”るるぶ”—it's full of retro charm. It operates the old-fashioned way too: around 30 seats, smoking allowed, and no separation of smoking areas. A smoker happened to sit next to me, and I found myself exposed to cigarette smoke for the first time in ages. A bit much for anyone who dislikes smoke. I tried ビーフカレーランチ (soup and coffee set), ¥950 including tax. The beef was simmered until tender, and the curry was slightly spicy, mellow, and as tasty as its reputation suggested.
